Sacramento area or Nor-Cal folks?

I sure hope so. I sent a letter to the shop confirming our conversation. I might follow up with a phone call just to make sure.

I guess I will have to leave the wife cab fare at the hotel. I gotta be in the convoy dont I? (hehehe)I just had to add another post to GLTDR Revival. It looks like the GLTDR is boomin.

Hey, since we aren't wrenching, and it's too cold to stand outside and talk trucks, I would rather ride with somebody and leave my truck asleep in the hotel parking lot.

Revival

FWIW I spoke to Denny Smith The mgr. of Cummins of New Hudson about the meeting and he said he'd be interested in comming along to meet some of you. Maybe this could lead to some perks (ie discounts) from his store. Seems like a nice guy and he said that he can use adult language and drink beer so I told him I thought he'd fit right in :D :D

Jim

The owner of Precision Diesel also indicated he might make some deals on parts. I didn't get into details, but he may be a very good resource for us.

hold on

I live in southeast Michigan 20 miles north of Detroit and 30 miles east of Pontiac. What is everyone talking about meeting at precision diesel? I want to come too; come on fellows let me come. I belong to the GLTDR. I need to look at that site more often.

Come on out, all the details of the weekend are here on this thread. We're staying at a local hotel, hanging out, talking about the GLTDR, going to precision, etc.

I just talked to them and they are ready for us. The address I have (from the internet) is

1286 Cedar st, Holt, MI.

ph (517) 694-1522

The directions I was given were to follow Cedar St. south thru Holt (city or village). From the intersection of Holt Rd. (and Cedar) go about 1. 5 - 2 miles to a big automotive recycling facility (junkyard :D ) named Schramms on the right. Look for a beige colored building on the left (east) side of Cedar with a sign for Babcock Clutch. Precision Diesel is in the back of the beige building.

Here is a link for a map, but it did not find the exact address. Should give you an idea where it's at though.

Not too many people say it was their craftsman framer that started it all! Mine was my 20 oz trim hammer from Estwing, still have it!

So what time is stuff gonna happen on saterday morning. I am gonna drive up saterday morning, and need to know what time to try to show up.

also, my roomate for the night bailed on me, so i now have a 2 man room for 1. So hammer, if you still have room, i will see if i can cancel my reservations.

We are planning to gather about 10:00 at the shop. Maybe we can BS and scarf some donuts and java before we really get going?

No problem Jeff. See you Sat.

A 28 oz waffle head Estwing in my carry-on bag got the airport security and flight crew's attention and created my nickname. I don' think any of them had ever seen a hammer like that. :D

Back in the day (15 years ago) I was kinda partial to the 32oz variety. Since then I dumped the steel handle's, in favor of wood, my elbow appreciate's it.

See you guys next weekend.

Later, Rob
