I'm getting a little burnt out chasing re-occurring problems with my 24 valve 5.9 and want to upgrade to a 6.7 but dont want to add DEF fluid so I heard to look for a 08 to a 2012 and avoid the first year of the 6.7 because of the typical first year issues of that motor. My 5.9 only has 170K miles on it and I know thats not alot I just have alot of upgrades including a bulletproof trans but just getting tired of living with the constant half dozen engine codes from a those mods. Am I better off with that 6.7 and new payments all over again or just keep beating my head against the wall with this 24 valve ? Is the 6.7 all the truck I'll need without all the mods the earlier trucks needed? And want to get away from that 1 Ton Ride and hope to feel a better ride in a 2500.
