Decided to go with Dave. Got a triple disc, vb and a few other mods on the way to NC. This guy calls when he says he will call and takes the time and effort to educate. You never feel like you are taking time away from something else he might have to do. Never heard one negative word from him about any of his competitors. Just told me what he felt I needed, how it worked, and when he will have it to me. Will keep you all posted on the install which will be done locally. Looking forward to losing the mushy converter.

You won't be disappointed. I had the same experiance as you. Great guy. I had his guys put it in for me as well. Has a great crew up there.

That is why I chose Goerend, one competitor didn't want my business, one couldn't stop patting himself on the back. Dave was just straight up, and has been great to deal with. I bet I have turned at least 10 people Daves way. He just has a great product offering. Any flavor of torque convertor he pretty much has it.

I've talked with Dave several times, and when others thought what I wanted to do was dumb, Dave took the time to explain things, and work with me.

When I get my new truck I'll be going with Dave right after I do tint and alarm...

Why Dave?

I know he will be there if an adjustment is required on the valve body. My transmission guy says if he is just swapping vb's and replacing tc, this is pretty simple. If it shifts strange, I have full confidence Dave will be there to talk them through it. Other place I called said they had a trained installer about two hours from me. Guy would never return a call. That would be real handy to start having problems and have to try to reach him then drive two hours for service. No thanks.

Whats the average time to get one of his transmission's built and shipped?

Can't comment on the shipping, since they put it in, but it was about a week or so, for them to get it built, and have room to get me in.

They basically build one trans per day, per person. After is built, they run it on the test stand, to make sure the pressures are right, no internal leaks, adjust shift points and what not. They are very thorough. I got to watch them work, and to lend a hand when they did the R&R work on mine.

Pronounced Gerrand, like errand with a G. He shipped me a different stall converter for free, no credit card for a deposit, and had the old one picked up by UPS after I had time to swap in the new one. Then he told me if the stall still wasn't what I wanted, he'd send another one! That was last year. This year he shipped me TCS's billet accumulator piston, billet second gear band strut and anchor, some different shift springs and a new govorner solenoid. The coolest thing he included was an instructional DVD made by himself with step by step VB R&I. Aslo, has called me many times and spent a great deal of time listening and explaining. All for free. Also said last year that if I was within driving distance of him, he'd swap the torque convertor for free--labor and all.

Dave is definetely the man. I broke tore some clutch lining out of my transmission. Called Dave that day he said "If you can get it here or get it out and to me I will fix it. " Towed it down there and all is well again.

St. Lucas, Iowa right down the road from West Union. No hotel and one diesel pump. Gotta love it.

I took my Motor Home out there to bullet proof.

A long drive from Pa. to Iowa to have the transmission Bullet Proof and what a difference. Yes I would do it again. He knows what he doing. He keeps up to date.

So if a person buys a Georend trans and install themselves, does that void the warranty?

My buddy has an 01 2500, he got the Edge system on it and now is slipping the stock trans... was looking at upgrading. He talked to ATS and they said just put a VB and torque convertor and the stock trans will be fine... but IMO I told him to fork out the $$ and get the whole trans done.

I dont think VOID is even in Daves vocabulary!! After I told him what I was going to be doing with my truck, he told me "my fault, your fault, doesnt matter send it back or bring it up here and we'll fix it" - which made me VERY comfortable with my decision on his transmission.

I installed mine myself, and the warranty is still good regardless. I live 900 miles from Iowa and the transmission was here within 5 days! ;)
