Clutch slipped today for the first time so I guess I'll be needing a new one soon.

I would like some info on what I should replace it with.

I'm running and EZ with DDII's

I tow a 5th wheel some. . around 10,000lbs

Southbend seems real popular.

Also who's got the best prices??

Thanks

SouthBend has done there home work also all distributors for southbend will have a 15% off all clutches the month of FEB.

Look at the Con OFE 13inch conversion clutch for your 5 speed. The 13 is much stronger than the stock 12 inch clutch.

Exactly!! Lot beefier clutch, you have to change the flywheel, SBC has the complete kit. Works like a champ! :D

Is that your original clutch and how many miles do you have on it?

I will be installing some M4s this weekend, so I will be needing a clutch real soon. Just dont know which S/B clutch to go with. Would like to go with the S/B FE but am afraid it will be too grabby for the stop & go traffic I am always in. Should I just go with an OFE and hope it holds down the road when a turbo upgrade is installed?

With the price of these clutches I can only do it once

Yes it's the original clutch. The truck was bone stock when I got it.

99,000 miles on the clutch so far. I ran 275 rv's with the EZ last summer with no problem. I put a set of DDII's in last week and the clutch doesn't like them... but I do... :p

I will probally go with a South Bend. I dont want something too grabby and I dont plan on bigger injectors but waiting for the Smarty to be released.

Thanks for all your input.

If you have any feeling that you will eventually over power the OFE, get the FE from the beginning. It will be a lot cheeper to go a little over what you need now and have room to grow later, than to have to upgrade again in a little while. I've been daily driving the FE for quite a few years and it really isn't that grabby under most conditions. I hardly notice it anymore.

The FE is very smooth. It also will hold up to 500hp. For the cost difference of the OFE and the FE, do it right the first time (you will understand if you change the clutch yourself). I ran an FE for about1 year, and franky, it felt like a stock clutch (I currently run a SBC 3850 12CB).

Trust me, you do not want to pull that transmission out more than you have to.

So an FE clutch isnt that bad. Sometimes I am in such bad traffic that it takes me a half-n-hour to make it a city block in rush hour. I dont want a clutch that will feel like my rear diff. is getting ripped apart. Plus how hard will a FE be on the left leg
