I have heard LOTS of horror storys!!-------

in divorce court. About the worst thing about a court of general jurisdiction (i. e. can hear any kind of case, so long as it involves more than $25k or caries more than one year in jail), is that I had to hear lots of divorce cases.

Most start with TWO tales of horror; first the party who initiates the divorce makes an opening statement (or the attorney does), then the responding party makes their opening statement.

In at least 85% of the cases you would swear they were talking about completely different marriages!!!

Each view is a horror story, but about the other person.

A bum way to make a living-----give me good old murder cases any day.

I was married for 29 years and then just before retirement my ex-files on me - there I go out the door - the Court gives her half of my retirement and I'm living in an Apt. Old Wife thought BJ was a monkey on a tv show - new wife who is 10 times the woman the first one was - and knows better ! :D

Had a guy working for me that had gotten a divorce when he was 57 years old. Wife got half his pension based on what it was worth at the time of the divorce (around $40,000). He moved to a sales position and worked for another 5 years. During the last years he had some great years (made over $375,000 in commission one year and over $300,000 another) The company changed the years they used to calculate the pension payout. He retired with a pension of a little over $120,000 per year, the Xwife gets $20,000 of that :-laf :-laf Sometimes the good guys do win :D

I told my ex I was divorcing her, darned if she did not file first. We kept talking though but when she started to get greedy, I said either we settled this privately or I will fight till I am broke and beyond, we will make two lawyers richer and you will have to commute 100 miles to court. She went for it but I had to hold my tongue in court. Did not matter, we lived in a small town. Tongues will wag. Everyone knew what was up. Divorce itself cost me just $500, talk about a bargain!

Poetic justice does happen though. Her "friend" and her headed out of town with a loaded U-Hual. Her "friend" was driving and hit a low bridge and took off the overhead portion of the box. And, I do mean she took it off. That bridge was only and inch or two above the windshield. Well, they say love is blind:D

Not all exes contribute to horror stories... . My ex is the one who got me hooked on CTD's, and TDR... so I thank him for that... .

Too bad me liked his mama more than he liked me though:--)

jennifer, should i even ask?

my parents god divorced a little over 10 years ago. it was somewhat of a horror story, but just some little things really. i've blocked a lot out--can't remember it. i still see me my dad every weekend and i still live with my mom. they're both my friends too so i've been extremely lucky when it comes to divorce.

Are you saying he liked his Mom more than he liked you? So he was a mommy boy and she messed up your marriage? Or are you saying that you are now living with his mother? :D

Had my wife for nearly 30 years. Just as long as you don't ask her anything though.

I had a fellow that worked for me that had about the best story I ever heard.

His first wife was a knockout even after 40 years of marriage. She made more $$ than he did, but she spent it all on herself. He was just a truck driver and a hobby rancher. She always complained about everything he did and didn't do. She wanted a fancier lifestyle.

After about the fourth time of saying she was going to divorce him, he went to a lawyer and had everything drawn up. He got home from work one day and she started in. He asked her if she would put that in writing and she said yes.

Come to find out she had a 'rich' boyfriend on the side and immediately married him. She left the house, furniture, and even the 16 year old kid with my friend. He was heart broken and went out and bought an identical Pontiac Grand Prix like his ex-wife was driving. Took him a couple of years to 'get over' her.

Long story short, he met a genuine millionaire that bought him a new pickup truck and a bass boat for his birthday (made him get rid of that Grand Prix). He retired and has it made!

His ex-wife's husband passed away and she had the nerve to ask her ex-husband if she could borrow the money to bury him. He wasn't so rich after all!

Some guys just get lucky!

Pit Bull,

Apparently blood is thicker than water..... :p

It's all good though... . found my match... good ole' Texas redneck that drive a BIG, RED CTD!:D

I just can not resist, I was working in a machine shop back in 1989. One day all the men where talking about women and girlfriend's and some where talking about how bad there girlfriend's were treating them and how the girl's did not love them. There was this welder ( he was about 50 ) listing to all of this and he said " y'all know there is only one women that really Love's you " then I said oh yea and who is that and he said " MOMMA "
