Hi, Just a question for you all, Anyone running the goodyear MT/R's? they look like an awsome tire but not sure about wear and noise? Thanks,

Dave

Goodyear

Just my opinion, but I will never own another Goodyear tire again in my life. I have the Wrangler 305/70R-16's and they still aren't balanced after 5 tries. I finally got it close with a static balance and I'm going to live with it. I can't wait for them to wear out, which - of course - is taking forever. I talked to the manager of the tire store that sold them to me and asked him what he really thought of the Goodyears, and he said that he has had a nightmare of a time with customers trying to balance them. He personally hates them. Wish he'd told me that before I'd bought mine as I didn't have any particular brand loyalty.

I've heard similar stories about other members having problems with Goodyear.

I have the MTR's on mine. I put them on at 57 K and now have almost 75K. Maybe about a third of the original tread left. They are soft, they make noise. I like the noise personally. They look great and perform well, but they wear very fast in my opinion. For the cost, I don't think you get enough mileage out of them. I think they are the best looking tire out there though.

I have MT/Rs on my truck. They are not noisy like a monster mudder. The new 3ply sidewall creates a stable sidewall, unlike their ATS design. I had mine siped for improved traction. These are very stable tires just like the BFG which I ran on my '95.
