What do our engines flow out the exhaust?

injector shims for 12 valve

As I am writing this a co-worker down the hall is on the phone working on trading his 7. 3 Ferd in on a 07 CTD. :-laf

PS: its after hours in case you were wondering;)

"I'd rather be strokin than cummin"

Whats the point than:-laf

I honestly saw that a couple months ago

Michael

Michael my bro-inlaw had a sticker on his truck that said Done Cummin And Still Strokin! I told him he didnt get it done right the first time thats why hes still strokin and tryin!!!:D Now he drives a Cummins!:-laf

About my '97 12 valve: "Do you have a chip?" I said, "Lot's of them. Scratches too!"

WOW!!! Three pages and nobody said this... Ford owns Cummins
I believe this is wrong... Cummins is not owned by Ford, and has it's own listing on the NYSE (CMI). If it was owned by Ford, it wouldn't be listing its own stock.

As for Goofy Ford stuff, a guy I work with bought an '03 new & knew he was bound to have trouble with it when the PS badging on the pass. door was applied upside-down from the factory. He had so much trouble with it Ford bought it back under Mass. lemon law, & he now has an '04 with no problems... so far... :-laf

Best line on "their" board today. After reading that Navis was issued with a temporary restraing order to continue shipping engines a guy said this... ... ... ... ..... "That's great for a new sales pitch: Buy a new SD with a court ordered engine"

I will give him credit for the humor. :D

Pulling 14,000 lbs at 65 MPH and gets 16 MPG. Oh wait, some guys around here say the same thing!!!:-laf :-laf :-laf :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :-{}

Is 14-15mpg close enough? Did it lots of times with my old 93. Hauling hay from Bazine KS to ColoSpgs at about 65-68mph.

Havent heard much from my g/f's boss since I got my pump back from the shop and told him it's hotter than my old 91 was. He is still on his original injectors, and I think the 02 is almost paid for. Still cant tow with my 1stGen.

Just remembered my uncle had a 7. 3 too. Said it was the best Ford he ever had, though he always complained about having to put new injectors in it all the time:-laf Though, he finally broke down after riding in my CTD and has a Cummins now. Haven't heard a complaint out of him yet about it. And this guy isn't happy unless he is b#$@%*ing about something;)

Almost at 200000 miles on my company Ford 01 7. 3(bread truck)----original injectors/glow plugs/turbo---on my third transmission,4th alternator/3rd waterpump and the list goes on. Best mileage for city/some highway is around 11. 5 at most, but it is underpowered and getting tired. This one is better then the 97 i ran before--lots of problems(total mileage is about 400000 combined with FORD 7. 3's). PS---THERE IS A REASON WHY I HAVE A CUMMINS IN MY GARAGE FOR TOWING---MY 2 CENTS---BASED SOLELY ON EXSPERIENCE. ;) ;) ;)

The one thing I find that really gets the PSD owners steamed is showing them the engine data plate that states .

Ford "Light heavy duty. . "

Dodge "Medium heavy duty. . "

They also can't give a reply as to why all road tractors run inline engines .

"I tell them if they had to carry 100 lbs would they use 1 hand or 2".

When they say "2" I say, "7 main bearings carries the load easier than 5 "

Ford must own Cummings. I saw it on the internet, must be true.

It's been posted here before --somewhere!!!!

LMAO!!!!

the engine plates dont have a thing to do with the engine design itself, they are there for emission reasons. the plate on my 96 model 6. 5 says heavy duty,i think we all know different...

WOW!!! Three pages and nobody said this... Ford owns Cummins:-laf :-laf :-laf

I was just looking for that also. Had a good friend who was talking about his mods on his 6. 0 and then asks me about my dodge and stated "you know Ford owns Cummins. They started it from the ground up".

thats because ford owns cummings

It's great that Ford owns Cummings. My question is: What does Cummings Build?? Certainly not the engine in my Cummins Turbo Diesel Dodge!

WOW!!! Three pages and nobody said this... Ford owns Cummins:-laf :-laf :-laf

That's because in the original post I requested, "Let's just leave the "Ford owns... " outta this thread 'cause we all know that one. " Although I never do get tired of hearing it.

Some of the Ford guys have refered to the 5. 9 as "Cumm-a-parts", ironicly that is just the thing the 6. 0L does best! I have also been informed by FoMoCo lovers that the 5. 9 was originally tractor, bulldozer, and irrigation pump motors. I guess in their minds that isn't as great as having a school bus motor in their trucks! I mean honestly, who brags on their Blue Bird or Grumman UPS truck!?!?
