What is the best way to find a reputable gooseneck hitch installee? Do you contact the manufacturer and have them recommend an installer? Or do you find an installer and have them show you their products?

Should be a plug and play, like it was said earlier most spray in bedliners places can install and sell you a hitch.

When I bought this truck, I let my B&W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch go with the 2002 3500 when I sold it, so I got on the B&W website and found a local authorized dealer in the Cypress, TX area (Mr. Bedliner) who installed the B&W Turnoverball hitch and a 7-pin receptacle in the bed. The B&W dealers do a lot of installations, so they typically know what they're doing - I was satisfied with their work.

I installed the Turnoverball hitch in the 2002, but I'm getting too old to be crawling around under trucks looking up (danged vertigo!!) and lifting heavy stuff, so I let the dealer do this one.

Yeah, me too. I installed the B&W on my '05 but no more. I did install my camper tie downs myself and even that was a much bigger hassle than in past years. Getting old sucks!

Local hitch installer here in the Minneapolis metro area installed the B&W turnover ball on my truck. They had the kit and said it was a lot easier to install than on the older trucks. They did it while I waited and did a nice job. Mine already had the fifth wheel package so they took out the factory center piece and put in the B&W so I could use my old Companion hitch.

It wore me completely out to put the Firestone RideRite airbag kit under this truck this past summer. When I was younger, I wouldn't even have broken a sweat. As you said, old age sucks, but I guess it's slightly better than the alternative! :{

If you are the least bit inclined to do it yourself, it really is a simple bolt in job. After drilling the bed hole, it's six bolts and done, you don't even need a measuring tape.

I installed mine myself and only needed a rack and a helper for a few minutes to make it way easier. Following the instructions is all you need to do except I also removed the rear section of exhaust pipe in addition to unhooking it from the hanger. Exhaust pipe removal was a one bolt and twist remove job and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it came off and went back on. Doing that made drilling and placing the heavy hitch piece and bolting it in the overhead position simple and safe. The whole job took about 1.5 hours going slow and careful. I could have had a shop do it but I saved $425 install fee and tax.

The B&W is a very simple installation on the 13's and newer. Top quality!

Guys....read the OP's signature...the OP has a truck that requires the B&W GNRK 1313.....it utilizes the center section as well as the rail kit, so it's not the "easier" installation of the '13+ 3500's or the '14+ 2500's.

found them in the yellow pages and word of mouth.
After shopping around at the local B&W Dealers in my area I chose the truck accessory shop with the best reputation to purchase and install the B&W Gooseneck hitch on my 06 Ford F-250.
My '14 3500 is a cab and chassis purchased with a flatbed already dealer installed which included all the trailer hitches built in ready to rock and roll.

Thanks guys. Good info. I'm going to wait on the gooseneck. Thought my 2500 had the upgraded 50,000 psi frame. But looked under and don't see the advertised 8 crossmembers that are described on the upgraded frame. Might be why I already have a creaky sound in the plastic on my dash. Frame flex on bumpy roads. The frame rails are hefty, I think where the frame is weak is in the crossmembers. When I read reviews before buying, I read about the 50,000 psi frame and it was falsely advertised on the 2013 2500's.

Anyway, good to know the B & W is the recommended brand.

Got it. Instead of "very simple installation" his truck would be "fairly simple installation" !

I used one of the recommended installers for mine back in 2012.
American Truck & Van Acc in Bakersfield Ca.

They did a very poor job and dented and scratched my truck bed. They told me "Just have your bedliner guy spray some extra in the dent to level it out"! I chose this place because it was close and I had purchased a couple rubber mats for 2 previous trucks. Fortunately the bedliner guy was able to fix the dent before spraying.

Bottom line, make sure you go to a reputable dealer that does more than a few of these types of installs. Of course if you have one of the later trucks with the 5er puck hole it isn't an issue as only price counts. I got my Companion from SD Truck Springs. Saved a bunch on shipping!

Leaning toward the Una-goose. But will have to likely install myself. Anyone drill the hole in the bed from the bottom?

Where do you get the wiring harness from for these? I don't see anything about it on B&W's website.

If you're referring to the wiring harness to put a 7-pin plug in the bed, you can get the Ram piece at your dealer or a plug-and-play substitute from trailer supply sources such as etrailer.com.
