Just a head's up here.......:) If you get one from an aftermarket supplier (Pullrite, etc) they are quite long, six or seven feet long. If you put the plug in the back, like the factory one, you end up with several feet of extra cable that you have coil up and tie wrap somewhere underneath.....kind of hokey, and since it is plug and play, you can't cut it to length. You can get one from Dodge/Ram that is only a couple of feet long so no coil up/tie wrap the extra is necessary.........Part number #82212195-AB

I installed my B&W myself. Took longer to read the directions than it did to install the hitch. The 4th gen trucks are REALLY simple to install.
 
why not just use ur factory installed plug on ur bumper? i was gonna do a bed plug but when i hooked up i saw that i have way more trailer cord than necessary to reach?? makes things simple :-laf
 
You can get the plug and play wiring harness from several places to avoid cutting and splicing factory wiring. Check etrailers, mopar parts etc.. they have a pig tail that will allow you to place the plug in in the bed wall as installed from the factory.
 
Received my uni goose hitch. Haven't drilled the hole yet or done the install. Pleased with how sturdy it looks and with testimonies I've seen on other forums. It bolts between the frame rails and appears to act as an additional cross member to the frame rails. Member of cumminsforum.com said he had the factory gooseneck which bent/bowed down in the middle about an inch. But says he replaced it with a uni goose and says you won't find anything stronger. Another says he was hit from the side where the uni goosewas bolted while towing and no ddamage to hitch.
 
Installed the una-goose yesterday. Toughest part of installation was weaving the frame brackets around the brake line bracket and under the brake lines on the drivers side. All in all, I took my time to do it right and every muscle in my back and arms were aching when done.
Tried several ways to install and retried because instructions were sketchy. Almost gaveoup several times. Going to torque it down today. I was too tired yesterday to worry about whether it was torqued strong enough to carry a load. It was only 14 bolts. But it is a heavy thing to hold up and bolt in place by yourself.
