Gooseneck hitch

I'm looking to buy a gooseneck hitch for my new truck. I want one that folds down when not needed. I may install a fifth wheel hitch someday, so one that won't get in the way of that (if any do... I don't know).



I want as few holes and as simple of an installation as possible.



Does anyone have any suggestions?

B&W I believe is the company. They make slick unit that flips under when not in use and has a companion 5th wheel that can be added to it.

I just ordered the gooseneck and 5wheel adaptor today, cost 1012. 00 from tanrtrailer.com.

If you are going to have a fifth wheel hitch in the future then you might want to consider installing the fifth wheel rails now and getting a gooseneck hitch that fits the rails. This is what I have in my truck and I like it alot since I have to have the rails for my fifth wheel anyway I figured why mess with the truck any more than what is needed for the rails.

I have the B&W ball and the B&W 5th wheel companion. I like both and there are no rails on the top side of my bed. I guess it depends though on what you tow more. If you tow a gooseneck a lot more than a 5th wheel then I'd highly suggest B&W.

I just installed a b&w turnover in my truck this weekend, i was a prety simple job, the worst part was cuting the 4" hole in my new bed, i must have measured it over and over 10 times.



The finished product is right slick, it all bolts and clamps on not drilling or welding on the frame.



The only problem i've got is with the dual exhaust, hitch fits fine but i can't turn the ball over, it hits my left side crossover, i'm just going to buy a plug.

It's so easy to decide when it's unanimouse! Thanks guys, B&W looks like a really slick setup.



If I tow anything, it's ussualy a gooseneck... it's just that a few years from now I might get a fifth wheel camper. Right now I'm looking at a smaller bumper pull camper.

I've had mine for 3 years pulling 9,000 lbs and no problems. I like that it's so out of the way when you're not using it.

I have a hitch that is made like the B&W but has 2 rods down under the fender well that drops the ball down and locks it. No need to craw up in the bed to turn it over (which is hard to do as we age).

Im using a Cody gooseneck. The ball turns over and it was very inexpensive.

I have the B&W and like it. For the fifth wheel later on you might think about changing the trailer to goose neck. My neighbor has the B&W and put the goose neck conversion on his new Holiday Rambler Presidential. This trailer grosses over 16,000 lbs and he has pulled it all over the country and loves it. You dont loose all the bed space with the fifth wheel,just turn over the ball.
