Anyone install a better trailer hitch?

Like Class 5 Curt or Reese/Draw-Tite?

Looks like the Curtt is easiest to install

Dont want one the hangs down low double stacked below the factory reciever
I'll remove my factory receiver piece

Never had a lick of trouble with my 04 or my 20

I wore the hitch out on my 05 and installed a Reese 45299. At the time I didn’t want a 2.5” hitch so I had a sleeve welded in it. It worked great and didn’t hang low.

I've studied that Reese 45299 and install instr.

Did You install it yourself ?

Looks like ya got to unbolt and raise up the pickup bed with a 2" block of wood to install and completely remove the factory round rear cross member

I did remove the OEM hitch and install it myself. It’s been a while, but I don’t recall it being a difficult installation.

Some of the Curt’s look easier to install, but also look flimsy/cheap compared to the 45299.
