Thanks, TDR Staff

Looks like DC to sell Chrysler to private firm

DC sold C!

Well, I finally scored one, the last one in the state! An '06 KTM 950 Adventure S.

Nice 950 Nick! I was looking at the KTMs for a while but ended up getting something a little more street-oriented (VStrom). Ever spend any time over at advrider.com?

Nick,

I was just kidding. That is a sweet bike! I had no idea they were that off road capable. Cool video.

I'm restricted to off road only, so when we go camping, I'll let you know!

Thanks PC! I have (up for sale) a BMW F650 Dakar. Love it but love the KTM more! The Stroms are nice. 1000 or 650? Yeah, too much time spent over there! Who are you over there? FYYFF! :-laf

I knew you were kidding Craig! I also know its fun for your whole family to ride the dirtbikes. I may come up to Conifer this week after work. I will give you a call if I do. Camping sounds good, where do you usually go?

Last year I picked up a leftover 2005 all black 1000. Here's a shot of it from my two week camping trip to Washington state last year:

It get's a bit top heavy with all my gear on board, but the big twin didn't have any trouble with all that weight in the "hills". I still have to put my ADV sticker on it. Advrider is a heckofa site! A little different vibe than on the TDR. I'm mostly a lurker ("Jo momma" is better than TV!) but I have posted a couple of times as "Smokin Diesel". Ironically, I think I've only posted about diesel trucks and flyin' stuff. What's your handle over there?

Oh yeah, and FYYFF too! :-laf

Nice looking Katoom Nick. Cool video, those guys are great riders. I wouldn't want to wrestle a bike that big on some of the stuff they were doing! Those adventure bikes are getting very popular. 90% of the guys I ride with ride KTM's but around here it's mostly 200 or 250 2 strokes because our off roading is VERY tight woods trails.

Yeah, I've been reading his thread. That dude's an animal. I was sooo done riding after 12 days. And he's on what, month #5?

It is addictive though...

I sold my Honda VTX1800C this past Thanksgiving because my knees were struggling with the 800 plus pounds. On impulse I went and purchased a Suzuki DRZ400 SM, (the SuperMoto version), which was a blast on the backroads but quickly became tiresome on the open road.

I traded the Suzy for a 2006 Triumph Tiger about three weeks ago and couldn't be happier. I still can venture the smoother dirt offroads and can cruise easily on the interstate.

The bags come off with a twist of a key and I have the top trunk on order. The top trunk has an optional backrest which I'm getting for my better half. Already mounted my Garmin GPS so I'll know where I'm going.

Nick,

Nice ride. I am still riding my 03 Tiger. We had talked about them briefly when you were getting the BMW. Still love the Tiger. I'm in Florida now with year round riding.

WCPoe,

Hope you like your Tiger. I actually considered trading up to the slightly more powerful 07's but realized I never used the full power of the 03.
