I drove from Jacksonville FL to Salisbury NC to have a RASP installed. It was nearby only 435 miles. After reading a lot of LP blues it was time to go mechanical. Called Mr. Poole to set up an appt. After a 3-11 Tuesday night, I drove straight to Olee's shop for my 8:30 appt Wednesday morning. Olee and Eric did a helluva outstanding job, proffessionally done! The excess fuel return line has steady flow to the tank, I saw it disconnected for testing. After installing the RASP, DD2 Injectors, F/P Gauge, Boost Elbow, new serpentine, and replacing the puker with a pipe to ground setup, OP and me took her out. No runs, drips, or errors. I was back on the road before 5. Fires right up with consistant 14 psi at idle. In 6th at 75 mph/2000 rpm reading 15 psi, 80mph/2500 rpm about 16 psi (ran out of numbers on gauge). Okay... WOT 3000-3100 rpm at 117 mph in 6th my W. A. G. was about 18-19 psi... had to watch the road! The truck runs really strong with no hiccups. So there you have it if the VP needs it RASP feeds it! Great product, get one if you're singing the LP Blues! If you live close to Olee like I do pay him a visit. If not he can mail you one with the fuel lines already set up for you. He does great work and lot of other stuff too!!! Hell of a great guy and nice staff. Thanks PBP!!! :D :D :D http://www.powerbypoole.com/home.html

RASP me please...

I want one :{ I think if I have to ask how much $$$. 00, I can't aford one now. But I do need an LP soon, 6 PSI @ 65mph. Good Luck with your new RASP, Moose

Glad to help!!! Small shop BIG results your were a great costumer. . I think the RASP kits are going to go a long way solving all lift pump blues. The BEST thing is you can refuel the truck with engine running. That's what i hate about a FASS it blows fuel back out of the tank and all on you. At idle the RASP doesn't return any fuel to the tank, it take 2,000rpm to start returning on you truck. . THANKS for your input and visit!!

RASP sounds like the correct way to keep fuel steady. I am fairly new to the diesels. I have a 4. 5 HO that I have installed EGT, transmission temp and boost guages. Then came AFE PG-7 and torgue tube. The next add was a TST w/guages that I run on 3/3. My next add will probably be fuel pressure guage. Is the lift pump problem something I need to be concerned about with the 4. 5 or is it just with the older year RAMs? If I ever see any fuel pressure problems it would be a RASP to the rescue. Looks like a very well engineered system.

Thanks, Jeff

"At idle the RASP doesn't return any fuel to the tank, it take 2,000rpm to start returning on you truck. "

I thought the there was always fuel circulating to keep the vp cool.

If you're engine is running, the fuel moving through the VP on its way to the injectors keeps it cool. At 2000rpm and above there is excess fuel (controlled by a regulator) on its way back to the tank.

Congratulations Augie! Think of all the free time you’ll have now that you don’t have to read any more LP threads, other than these of course. :-laf

The RASP and Olee’s kit is by far the slickest fuel supply set-up out there.

So with an OE lift pump, can a guy refill the tank without shutting off the engine? I hate shutting it down for a refill...

I suppose you could. Most service stations around here frown on filling while the engines running though and are quick to let you know about it.
