I think I remember reading about those once before or at least something similar. They cool the liquid when you open the can. Pretty neat idea.

GI's in Iraq accomplish the same thing by putting a bottle of water in a wet sock. As the water evaporates out of the sock, it draws the heat out of the bottled water, cooling it. Kinda neat.

It really does work. Especially if you hang it out the window while going down the road, the cooling effect is quicker. Sometimes the sock wouldn't stay wet long enough. Like the days when you did laundry by hand and everything was dry in 15 min .
