off road fuel???

Looks like the Ford camp is restless.

I agree the locking fuel cap isn't going to stop them, neither is getting ******, but eventually this country is going to go bankrupt due to our gov't and their wild spending along with their pork barrel ventures... Did you know the house and senate have given thereselves a cost of living increase since day one, that was supposed to be for the working public not just those that feel they need it and no one else does, and when this country does go belly up im going to laugh my *** off.

As for the farm equipment, if im not mistaken pedestrian's, bicycles and farm equipment have and will always take precedence over regular motor vehicles on the highway, the only place your not allowed to run a piece of equipment is on a Interstate at least here in Va which has to be trailered or hauled.

I do like the idea of booby trapping the fuel door, not so much for DOT but for the prick that wants to steal my fuel that i payed for, let me catch someone sucking fuel out of my tanks, that person is going to carry a much deserved ***** whooping period.

Is this the same hassleback that challenged a member to a race in his supposed viper and never showed up despite repeated claims that he had a 1000hp viper that was the fastest in the world. After changing the date and time would not even show up for a pre race meeting. The race did go off but not with him involved. A 16 year old in a vega that lives in berkley.

Well my tint is illegal here in Florida as well as most cars on the road here. So far they only care about commercial vehicles and young kids. The only gripe I have here is all the law enforcement as well as DOT vehicles are running limo tint. I checked the laws once when I was running commercial vehicles and the only law enforcement vehicles that can legally run limo tint are the K9 units. But then how do you fight the man? You don't not in this country anyway.

keep a disposable or digital camera in your vehicle & take pictures of the car the ticketing officer is driving and take those along with a copy of the statute excluding k-9 vehicles to court or even keep a copy of it with you & show the hypocritical cop that stops you. how can a judge enforce a law the ticketing cop himself is breaking. justice isn't always cheap or easy & sometimes not fair but the alternative to roll over & be a sheep is unacceptable at least to me. cops prey upon people's ignorance of the laws & their rights bullying people into submission and doing as they're told just because a cop said so and that's bu]]*****. what's the worst that'll happen, you'll get that ticket for the tint. they can't beat you, you're not going to get shot. look at the crap cops take from those people in "da hood" & what happens to them? nothing. you'd be stunned to now really how far you can push an issue with a cop before he can legally do anything to you other than what you're guilty of if you're guilty in the first place. everybody needs to stop living in fear of these people just because they're wearing a badge & attempting to intimidate you, they call that "command prescense" & they heavily count on it to keep you in submission. how many of you guys are even aware that a cop cannot have his peace breeched meaning so long as you're not making a scene & disturbing the peace of civilians in the immediate area & you don't threaten you can say whatever you want to the cop & about his ugly face, wife, mother, sister, daughter, question his sexuality etc & he can't do anything about it.

If there is nothing to hide why complain?

Yeah I agreee its a waste of time, but I aint got nothing to hide, and run everything legal. No big deal to me.

Well down here in SW La. I have been burning the good red stuff for over 2 months now in the 02' CTD but it is legal being the crisis situation

crazy, i understand where you're coming from because your own values & ethics preclude you from running red fuel so you're not guilty of anything so with a clear conscience you see nothing wrong with the inquiry. the point i'm trying to make is if you haven't done anything wrong, nobody has witnessed you doing anything wrong then why should you be suspected of & assumed to possibly have done something just by virtue of what you're driving and come under the scrutiny of law enforcement, intimidated to cooperate & forced to prove your innocense during their improvised roadside interogation and that's what i resent and have so much contempt for as well as their usual line of questioning. it's none of their business where i'm coming from, where i'm going or what's in my tank etc. we have the right to move about freely with the expectation of NOT being hassled, impeded, detained or stopped. life's stressful enough without them adding anymore b/s to it. i don't think it's unreasonable to expect to just be left alone.

I know and feel the same, but why get all bent out of shape about it? I cant make it go away, but if I go ballistic it may appear to the ones that stop or question me that I DO have something to hide. To each his own.

I just try to stay between the lines and have learned to say "Yes Sir"..... :-laf

This type of inspection is not restricted to fuel checks. Here in AZ, there are mandatory checks for illegal aliens by Border Partrol. I even went through the check point on my bicycle since the sign said that everyone must exit. I just don't see the problem. From the talk here, some folks would change the sign to "all illegal aliens must exit". I'm sure that would work.

Aseigworth i agree, finally someone with sense enough to see whats up in this country. . I like the response from one lady when asked what she would do if all the farms were pushed into bankruptcy, where would she get her food to feed her family. . her response "I WILL GO TO THE GROCERY STORE",, WHAT A LAME BRAIN!!!!

I think some pple think the grocery stores have an endless supply at the warehouse. I plan on growing produce next year, and what i sell here at the farm stays in my pocket not the damn govt's.

Klenger i agree IMO they should round them all up ship there *** home and lock the border, but that would not be right, our gov't has turned into the biggest bunch of panzies i have ever seen and this war, get the hell out, let them fight if they want, seems our gov't loves to invite hardship upon their own citizens with meaningless wars and not to mention spending of tax dollars on BS

if you're innocent, hiding nothing & they're bullying you during one of their fishing expeditions why not put the burden on them instead of putting youself in the position of having to prove your innocense. if you're unjustly "targeted" for whatever perverse reason they have why cooperate and make their job easier. if they're so intent on scrutinizing you make it as difficult as possible for them and make them earn their money plus loudly and clearly sending the message you're not going to put up with foolish b/s nor be intimidated. if he threatens to get a warrant call his bluff. i'd love to see the look on his face when the judge asks what the probable cause was for stopping you and what reason he has to believe you've committed a crime. they will probably call for a drug sniffing dog to do an exterior walk around & if he gets a hit then they'll go for a warrant but short of that they can't do anything to you if you haven't done anything wrong.

and they haven't even come close to earning my respect to be addressed as "sir"... ... ... ... ... ... unless of course i did do something wrong & the guy's giving me a break.

It's probably a generational or geo-cultural thing - we were taught to use "sir" when addressing elders or those in authority as a sign of respect for the age of or position held by the individual. If you want to call him "dude" or @#^#@ as a sign of rebellion, it's your day that is going to turn bad, not mine.

rusty, i assure you not calling some rogue law enforcement type "sir" when he is suspecting me of wrongdoing & putting me on the spot to prove my innocense is not going to turn my day bad. why do so many people fear the police, especially police taking advantage of those fears & trying to capitalize on one's own ignorance of the law??????? they guys do have laws & sop's they are supposed to operate within and if they don't & you feel like you're being threatened, intimidated, taken advantage of, abused etc. you have all kinds of rights and avenues open to you to turn their day quite bad. i'm not trying to incite a riot or start wwiii here, you're all a nice bunch of guys & i'm just trying to open a few people's eyes that they don't have to live in fear of the police or police types when they've done nothing wrong nor should they feel compelled to do something they'd really rather not like allow their tank to be dipped or have their vehicle searched. you are an american with rights & if you feel bullied, cooerced or harassed there are options for you to remedy this & put them on the defensive. most cops are good, hard-working guys but there are arogant, bitter, self righteous, do-gooder, save the world types with their own agendas out there who do try & bully people around & go beyond their boundries until told they can't & it's these people i have the issue with.

Did you read my post? Respect for authority has nothing to do with fear - it's the same thing as the military. You salute the rank, not the individual.

As I said, perhaps we were brought up differently here in the south back in the 40s and 50s. Yes, sir and Yes, ma'am were ingrained into us from birth, and they've stood me in good stead for 58 years. Frankly, it bothers me a lot when someone in their 20s addresses me as "Dude"!

I'll leave this with a trite old saying - "To those who understand, no explanation is necessary. To those who do not, no explanation will suffice. "

some bureaucratic, *****clown, bottom-feeding civil service employee targets me as a possible dyed fuel runner & just has to know what's in my tank "sir" is the last thing i'm calling him. my taxes help pay his salary, he works for me. if anyone's gonna be called "sir" it's me. they want my respect go pinch a drug dealer, one of those lane changing import driving speeding idiots or one of the cretins that breaks into our trucks stealing our stereos & tools. that's honorable, respectable police work and someone i can call "sir". setting up a roadblock, asking intrusive questions, asking to search my truck etc, now that's just a jerk and i can be one hell of a royal pain in the *****. have a nice day.

As far as the tint goes I carry a razor blade and would remove mine-18% before he could get the citation filled out. Tint guy recomended this as he runs 5% all the way around his truck, Good thick film will pull off in one piece after you get the edge started and could possibly be applyed again later. In my county/city they dont bother to hassle anyone but the worse types and will only add dark tint to a list of other infractions due to many cases being thrown out of court on there own also diesels don't get allot of flack in mosly stock apearance because most of the law enforcment people either want a diesel pickup or already have one and it puts YOU in their "CROWD" or status for driving one. I once had a deputy walk all the way around my truck in envy and then came in the store to disscuss my lift/tires and his lift/tire options for his truck, this after me being in lots of trouble when I only drove sports cars.

The biggest thing I would discourage(AS A STATE SAFETY/EMISSIONS INSPECTOR) is any tint on the winshield as if you ever rear-end any one-your fault or not- you could be blamed in some way by the insurance as it affects visability out front especially at night.

Cliff notes or favorite quotes,
Would John Hancock have agreed to have his tank dipped?
<!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
how much damage does a 1000 lb all electric vehicle do to the roads?

Anymore, election choices are picking the lesser of two evils!

Our Fore Fathers are doing flips in their graves as we speak

you'd be stunned to now really how far you can push an issue with a cop before he can legally do anything to you other than what you're guilty of if you're guilty in the first place

FOXY005-- The DOT stop was off of I81 the 182 exit, on Davis St. Just below Montage Ski Area and the Red Barrons Stadium to paint you a picture if you know the area.

PRyker-- The officer just issued me a citation to pay. I don't have to remove the tint, pay the citation and then get a visual inspection from the officer to verify that the tint has been removed. I'm just going to pay it and leave the tint on.

I've been through many a D. O. T. check before and have never been able to leave without some sort of miniscule nit picky fine. They couldn't get me for anything else so lets nail him for the tint. I know more and more towns and cities are getting their own D. O. T. task forces certified by the state. I've been pulled over in Scranton many a time in our work trucks and the city D. O. T. officer asked me is this thing gas or diesel? Yeah he asked if it was gas or diesel and this is the guy that's pulling me to the side of the road for an inspection. I kid you not! :D
