off road fuel???

Looks like the Ford camp is restless.

I agree Jabini,

This is crap and without more americans saying no were done and fed up, it won't work, because to many have no guts to stand up, damn good thing this isn't france back in the 40's or the Germans would take over with out a fight. Now that i have your attention on that part, our gov't sucks they lie, biggest bunch of crooks since bonnie and clyde to many want to ignore and others don't want the hassle. One day this cirlce of crap will come to a head and when it does i just have one question, are you going to be the one that tucks tail and runs or one that fights?

I myself am just a simple law abiding citizen that wants to be left the F*** alone as alot of other pple do.

Actully they do not need a search warrant, thanks to the criminals which are treated better inside the system than law abiding folks(i know this for a fact) as the states baby there ***'s, as long as they have probable cause they can search the kicker is most pple don't challenge it after the fact, first if you say no they have the right to detain you as now they have suspicion that you are hiding something, all this **** goes hand in hand and down the line, how do i know, i studied law in school.

But i myself have nothing to hide and just want to be left alone, just like with paying taxes, there is no frigin way that as many pple in the usa pay taxes and pay income tax should this country be sending our damn money over sea's, keep it at home and use it where it is needed. . But this is our gov't always got their nose stuck in **** that they have no need to be in. . Imagine that.

Im done now :-laf and if someone don't like the post im sorry and could care less.

WyattEarp,

I believe there may be a market for a false fill tank. Let the DOT or Brown shirts as they have been referred to on this thread to dip their hose into whatever you choose to fill the false tank with! Your choice!

This idea actually came from the thread discussing high fuel prices and thieves siphoning fuel. One TDR member cold sucker punched a guy in a Walmart lot who began suck starting a siphon hose on his Dodge Ram, causing the bad guy to big gulp and vomit.

Another fella came out one morning and found a hose and vomit outside his RV. Seems as though he had replumbed his black water tank vent into the old fuel door.

this is just the typical type of bureaucratic bullying, abuse of power & government intrusion/trespass into my life & personal property i resent & despise. who in the hell gives them the right to arbitrarily check my truck for anything & what's their probable cause other than needing their pathetic, overly self-important, self righteous egos stroked by pushing their authority around and intimidating the very people paying their salaries. if this is what they resort to in order to collect a government check then there's obviously too many of these bottom feeders earning a living sucking up our tax dollars. what if i don't let them stick my tank regardless if i'm on private or public property??????????????? what are they and what can they do to me???????? this is the very same crap that got randy weaver's wife shot in the head while holding her child. government like this is scary government and maybe a few of us need to show our balls & refuse having our tanks sticked. i run regular pump fuel so i'm clean & have nothing to hide, i just resent the accusation, intrusion & prohibiting me from moving about freely. it reminds me of those old wwii b&w movies where there gestapo surrounds a suspect at a train depot asking to see "their papers". i'm buying a locking gas cap just to stop this crap. they ain't sticking me & if they want in i "lost the keys". they can kiss my fat guinea *** if they think i'm taking this laying down & will fold like a cheap camera & let them push me around. they can take their tank sticking stick and ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... sorry for the rant but i just really have a problem with abusive government thinking they can do as they please till challenged. well i'm laying down the challenge, come & try sticking my tank and see who's still able to eat corn on the cob. i don't let my wife drive my truck, one of those civil service test-takers isn't touching it. come on guys, draw the line in the stand & stick up for yourselves. this is crap.

Well, the next time I hear of one here, I will let you know so you can go show us all what size of Kahonas you have... .

They will confiscate your vehicle and fine you as well as possibly arrest you. Whether you like it or not. Until you have the actual laws changed, legally, your not going to change the system.

As far as a locking gas tank... ... sorry , but a screwdriver can open that rather quickly.

False fuel tanks wont get you by either as the go over the entire vehicle.

Although I do agree it isn't right for them to target diesel owners, they are just doing what they are told by their boss's. So, change the laws and the boss's they work for the next time you vote... ..... you do vote dont you?

my dad got DOT'd out in Pa a couple years ago, on the farm our big rigs are usually only runningabout 5 hours round trip, and we only need one fuel tank on the rig. well the drivers side tank hadn't been opened as long as we owned the truck, and that cap wasn't comin off. the officer made my dad take a hammer and chisel to the cap because he wanted to see that that tank was empty... seems to me the officers are going to do pretty well what they please, and your going to listen, or pay the consequences, until the lwas get changed anyway

and how do these abusive, power hungry, storm trooping *****clown nazis explain a detention, impounding, detention, possible damage with a screw driver etc. when IF they finally gain access to my tank they find nothing. i have no problem sitting on the side of the road for however long it takes while i call my lawyer & the media. i'm sure the "spin" will look good that "another" completely innocent person has once again been victimized by an overly zealous rogue government agency that has done nothing wrong & has had his civil liberties interferred with. just because you have nothing to hide doesn't mean caving in and cowtowing to these jerks just because they said so. this is out of control and people need to stand up for themselves and not be run roughshod over by ethically corrupt civil service employees. if thomas jefferson were alive today do you really think he'd sit by and allow some jerk to stick his big snout in his fuel tank becasue some bureaucratic jerk somewhere said he could?????? there just comes a time when you have to stand up for what's right and not allow yourself to be pushed around, threatened, intimidated, coerced & exploited. a buddy of mine got stopped in one of those "roadblocks" (gestapo checkpoints) they like to set up while he was on the way home from work in his work truck. the cop began asking him questions. he was extremely uncooperative and just kept telling the cop it was none of his business. another cop sitting his lazy fat ***** in a police car shinned his spotlight over on him, my buddy picked up his mag light and shinned it back on the cop in the car. the interogating cop asked if he was being a "smart *****". told him the other guy shined on him first & unless he was going to give him a ticket for something he was leaving & promptly drove away. just like typical cowardly bullys they did nothing when stood up to because my buddy was doing nothing wrong & rubbed their noses into the fact. there's enough hardcore "real" criminals out there to catch without them going on lazy fishing expeditions trying to find an easy pinch or manipulate a nothing into something. you can have the self satisfaction of standing up for yourself or take it sitting down like europe did in the late 1930's. i've had enough & i'm not playing their game & if it takes refusing to "cooperate" with them in order to make them look like idiots so be it. financially you may end up giving in in the end but why make it pleasant or easy for them????? get something, at least a little self satisfaction of some good old ball breaking for your inconvenience & intrusion, you're an AMERICAN & this isn't 1936 Munich, Germany. i'd probably have more respect for a nazi because at least they didn't try & hide who they were & what their wacko agenda was. uniform wearing, gun carrying tax cops with flashlights & creepers stopping me in the course of my daily business to "investigate" my fuel is scary when i've done nothing wrong and no realistic expectation to be stopped other than them profiling me for driving a diesel powered truck. that's worse than stopping every lowered lexus with gold emblems & 20" wheels because there might be drugs in the car. what's next??????? i hate cliches but JUST SAY NO!!!!!!!!!!! you'll feel better for not having been pushed around, at the very least demand a supervisor & give him/her/it a piece of your mind. it's a little tough to charge you etc. when they ultimately discover you've committed no crime. this motivational intervention comes free of charge & i hope it has inspired at least one of you to stick up for yourself or at least question their motivations & intentions. they want a bunch of diesel owners to roll over & allow their tanks to be dipped without even a peep then let it be the duramax & psd owners to be the sheep, hopefully ctd owners are a different breed and question intrusive, arbitrary "authority", expect a moral, ethical government. even though this is hardly a blip on the radar of our daily lives let this be our "tea party" and we're not going to take it anymore. if you make it unpleasant, time consuming, frustrating, difficult & ultimately a waste of their time when hopefully you've been good little boys and girls and they find nothing they'll eventually give up & leave us alone.

Red #2 OK

The Federal DOE has legitimized the use of red dye fuel under our current fuel supply shortage. You must claim your use to the IRS. Link to DOE website with dye waiver info: http://www.energy.gov/engine/content. do?PUBLIC_ID=14135&BT_CODE=DOEHOME&TT_CODE=GENERICDOCUMENT

I would imagine that the dipping has stopped in most states as this is a Federal waiver.

The false tank mentioned above was a light joke to soften the direction of this thread!! Lighten up guys. There is no need to notify anyone of your D. O. T. stops, thank you. We do vote them out in Virginia with our very large nut sacks. :-{} Never got to use that one!

Well said JArbini. Having seen first hand how (the system) works has changed the way I think and act. Presumption of innocence? Yeah right. Innocent till proven guilty? Not this time! To protect and serve? Sorry, try again. Sure there are good apples and a few bad apples... Well, bad apples taste like cr&p. After my two year battle with (the system) along with the time and money needed to prove my innocence, the one thing I've learned is... . I shall beg for forgiveness before ever ask for permission...

I am a professional farm equipment jockey if there ever was one and I heard one of the most insane things ever the first of the week when I got pulled over by the DOT and believe me I get stopped alot.

They were doing a spot check at the edge of a town in southern MN and waved me to pull my truck over so I did. I was pulling a 490 International disk which to those of you who don't know equipment... it has a width of 15' with the wings raised up in the air. He proceeds to tell me that I can't pull this thing down the road as it is over the 8' 6" width rule which he tells me is the maximum you can pull down the road. Than he starts ranting about making me get a truck to haul this thing away and i told him it would be just as wide on a truck as it is pulling it but I chose to pull it because it was safer. He tells me it will have to be torn apart to be hauled then and I explain to him that the only way you can tear it apart to make it smaller is with a torch and I also said I'm not going to be forced to cut up an expensive piece of equipment to get it safely down the road. Then he looks at my hitch and sees how my drawbar is bent down from MANY heavy pieces hooked to it over several years and says that is not acceptible and has to be replaced before I can move my truck. I tell him to get on his knees and find just one little crack and I will then consider changing my drawbar but until then I will not be forced to buy a new one. I had finally had enough after about a 45 minute waste of my life getting ranted on like a 2 year old that has been naughty that I looked at him and said either arrest me or I'm leaving NOW. I walked to the truck got in and drove off... looked in the rearview mirror and he was still standing on the shoulder behind where I was sitting until I could no longer see the spot.

Now I will tell you my towing habits on this particular day before some of you choose to rant at me. I had a SMV (slow moving vehicle sign) hanging on the back of the disk, I had my headlights on and flashers going and a strobe light on my cab roof and never exceeded 30 mph anytime before or after this incident happened and I pulled it for 200 miles to its destination without one mishap.

I say..... F**K THE DOT!

i wonder when the last time some one was injured or even involved in a accident from someone towing a 15 ft disc or even a 12 ft like mine[safely towing]. for pete sake what the h!!! has this country come too when a man who makes a living cant do it cause some law dog feels he needs play dictator. i have seen some officers who thought they were enforceing the law correctly, actually be proven wrong, rare but it happens. from time to time the local troopers set up road blocks on a stretch of road going to and from my home, one ocassion they did it in the bend of a curve [blind curve] in hopes of keeping people from takeing a quick exit on a side road, and avoiding the trap, that was a accident waiting to happen, fact is i nearly hit one of the idiots the first and only time they did this. the road blocks were a pain,i guess others thought so as well and complained, cause there was a rumor about complaints going round, and the road blocks stopped. i have a friend who also owns a small contracting buisness,he told me that he was checked for red fuel at his buisness, this kind of crap is just not right ,road side checks ,catching you at a local store and checking you is not right, fact is if you think about it its no different than profileing. personaly i believe if a man is driveing down the road with a fuel tank for fueling equipment and such in the back of his truck[like i have in two of my trucks] then this could possibly be seen as reasonable doubt for a fuel dipping, but a person in a everyday truck, for crying out loud leave them alone... .

NEVER GOING OVER 30 MPH TOWING 15 FEET WIDE?? DUDE, I JUST HOPE I NEVER SHARE THE HIGHWAY, LET ALONG THE STATE OF MN WHEN YOU ARE STUPIDLY TOWING.

DRAWBAR BENT? MY GOD, ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL YOU KILL AN ENTIRE FAMILY COMING HOME FROM CHURCH.

i had a new york cop stop me for an expired CONNECTICUT emmission sticker. the ct cops barely cared about the stickers so imagine how surprised i was when he asked "what's the story with this?" motioning to the sticker. i explained it was a company vehicle i don't normally drive & didn't notice. i asked him what jurisdiction he had over a ct. emission program which ticked him off like i have no right to ask this goose-stepping nazi creep (officer kapica tarrytown, ny pd) a question & was told i was to listen to him & not argue. after being lectured like i was a 16 year old juvenile delinquent i asked him close to 20 minutes worth of questions about handling the ticket making him stand out in the pouring rain with cars speeding by spraying him with filthy water. long story short after obtaining a copy of a letter from ct dmv to all ny pd's telling them to stop enforcing something they have no jurisdiction over and having a very unpleasant phone conversation with a rosie perez sound alike court clerk i had the ticket dismissed. if you think you're being intimidated or bullyed stand up for yourself.

Hasselhoff,

Are you the kind of TDR poster that just throws spears or do you post any information of value? Why don't you move onto another thread. You are beginning to sound like a whining left coaster.

Just a huge thought!

Hasselbach, do you eat food retard? OF COURSE YOU DO! When farmers need to move equipment from field to field do you expect them to dismantle it and move it which could take several days on equipment this size or perhaps maybe you could be courteous of them when you meet them on the highway or side roads.

In regards to my bent hitch dummy..... I also had a heavy safety chain connecting the equipment to the frame of my truck and driving less than 30 mph would hardly let it get out of control.

I am really beginning to think you have big truck envy and don't drive anything more than a Chevette.

Sheesh, do us all a favor and stay out of the midwest. Especially from March to November. Oh, and don't come out from November to March, cause its cold, snowy, and icy here too. Until you have lived here and can understand what goes on, don't make anymore comments about us. I fear a young couple with a brand new Jeep Grand cherokee pulling their pop up camper far more then anybody pulling farm equipment in the midwest. 15' wide is easy, its the 20-30 foot heads that get to be interesting. I've hauled equipment on a semi at 13' wide, and that was 55-70 mph. Big deal.

Michael(aka a midwest farm boy)

Hey, I have been harassed in Iowa about the tint on my semi-truck, but since I sold the semi and started my own trucking company hauling cars, I have never had a problem in Missouri with the tint, sorry about your luck my tint is 35% on the front and 2% on the back.

Myself, owning many rather large tractors, I know most people have no clue as to how they are moved! As a matter of fact, in Chico Ca, my swimming pool was moved about 80 miles from Williams Ca, on a flat bed. It was one of the pre fab fiberglass pools. They never killed anyone. They just did as you did and followed the rules of the road. It too was 15+ feet wide. But, it wasn't on a Sunday that is was being towed and never passed a church! :-laf . I can see it now, a Chevette in the deep end of my pool being towed on I-5. That would make a funny picture. Kinda like Doris Day and James Garner in the old movie "The Thrill of it All" :-laf :-laf

After reading this thread and getting more than a little pi$$ed I am seriously considering getting a used kotex and fastening it by the string inside the fuel door with a notice (label affixed) for the DOT that states "This is the only red you will find in here. "

C, where you eavesdropping on my phone earlier???????? LOL i was talking with a buddy of mine & were kidding around about boobytrapping our fuel doors to spray pig's blood (quite an irony in itself) when triggered. they want to go snooping for red, there's their red but a kotex is more suitable given these spineless eunichs have to hide behind their badges to get off on their power trip harrassing private citizens just trying to go about their lives not bothering anyone. it's reprehensible and pathetic given the amount of actual criminals out there needing to be pinched. let them go on a fishing expedition on their own time and stop suckling off the tax dollar teet. they could spend their time productively going after drug dealers who pay no taxes on the "product" they sell but that would be dangerous and too much work when we're non-threatening easy targets so they can actually con themselves into believing they've done a good job, actual police work & earned their money plus helping to apprehend a real threat to the community. they're so transparent and phoney it makes it too easy to b!tch about them it's almost taking the fun out of it.

i think the biggest problem we have today, is people are getting dumber to how things are done in farm or ranching country,or just to things in general. i see it every day, especially young kids from town, driveing down rural, farm to market roads way to fast, nevermind the fact someones livestock may have gotten out of the fence,or a tractor, piece of equipment is being roaded to the next field, job site. many adults fall in this same catergory as well, folks are just so caught up in there own world, they just dont forsee as to whats down,or could me down the road, and how to react. case in point,2 years ago my friend was roading a tractor to the next field down a fm road, traffic was light, the stretch of road was a straigtaway,as he began to turn on to the driveway to the field[left turn]he was basicly hit in the side by a kid in a small truck attempting to pass at the last min. the entrance to the field was a large one, plain to see by any one driveing down the highway,a little anticipation on the driver of the pickup could have prevented this. another needless accident that occured several months back, involved a guy following a log truck to closely. as the log truck approached a overpass[out of the ordinary lower]he realized the bridge was possibly to low,and reduced speed. well the bridge was to low,the very top log on the trailer caught the bridge and slid it back approx 10 ft,the man behind the truck in a jeep caught the log right through the window and was killed. to a degree the truck driver holds some of the responsibility, but if the man in the jeep hadnt been following so close,he would still be alive today. .
