Mine topped out at 98 but that was when I was when I had the factory LP limiter. Didn't know at the time but it was only pushing 9lbs at idle. Wonder how fast it is now with full fuel. Stock.
All I know is, I had my mother's '88 RX7 Turbo (only rated 180 hp/180 lb/ft, but those numbers are deceiving) up to 110 once - on a flat, straight road. For ONLY a few seconds, until I chickened out. Remember, that is a light little sports car that is DESIGNED to handle at those speeds. I can't even imagine taking my truck that fast.
Here in PA, it is also a GOOD way to get arrested, and get your vehicle impounded real quick.
I had mine to 106 once (108 on speedo, 106 on GPS) That was with stock tires, auto transmission, and 373 gears. I don't think I had any RPM's left though, might have been a governor, don't know for sure. My 35 inch tires should get me about 10 MPH more though, might have to try it before the Juice goes in, then try it again. Now I'm curious. Once you've been 180 mph on two wheels, 120-130 on four wheels is nothing.
This was discussed on another thread/forum. I think there is a rev limiter. The guys with bigger tires(315s in my case) and 3. 73 gears will be able to get higher mph before they hit the rev limit. I have had mine up to 110mph and still pulling strong, I ran into my chicken limiter at that point. Next time I am on that 4 mile stretch of silky smooth, strait, flat road I am going to find out when mine backs off.
Mine used to do 114-116 when I put on the EZ, now just tonight I installed the PMCR box stacked with the EZ on level 2. Might have to find an open stretch of highway, but for now sure moves 9,000# to 95 pretty damn quick!!
I could do 110 before the EZ. . I don't know if I coulda gone faster, I ran out of room on these crappy CA freeways. I might take it for a test run later today just to see what I can get.
"What do you mean officer??? There is no way I could get this truck going that fast! It's just a big ole sluggish diesel. Your radar gun must be off "
