I got my Fass installed Saturday. 4 hours. No major problems, just wish the directions were a little clearer. I had some concern about the bracket, but noticed a second one ( with a welded web) in the box, Duhhh. . Drove it 400 miles Sunday. . My impression was:
The engine "sounds" different. For a lack of a better term, "more Rattle-y" not louder, the rattle is more defined. I notice no difference in power, unloaded. It was hard to start initially, and the pressure was more than 15 pounds (the limit of my guage) In Phoenix we measured it with a manual guage and it was 20-22 lbs. Removed the spring, compressed it in a vice and reinstalled it. now runs 14-15 lbs with no decrease on WOT, unloaded.
It definately starts better with lower pressure.
Overall, it was simple and not to complicated to install. I do have the urge to offer my technical writer to the manufacturer to re-write the install instructions. They are a little brief and not all-together accurate. Some things you figure out for yourself, like brass on brass fittings should all have teflon tape, and if you remove the driveline, you can SEE the connections on the top of the tank, not just feel them.
All in all, a nice addition. A little less worry.
