So i got rearended this afternoon on the way to the chiroprator (how convienient). it messed up my rear bumper, but did alot worse to her nissan sentra, as she slid under me. Don't worry everyone is fine, but she is wondering how i stopped so fast. gotta love these brakes.

So christmas came early this year and i want to put the insurance money towards a new bumper. Here's what i am wondering, what is a good rear replacement bumper that will work with the factory hitch. Does Road Armor have there poop in a group yet? i remember some people having problems with them. It doesn't look like Buckstop makes one. Anybody no of a place in the Baltimore area. Thanks in advance.

I also got lucky as there is no apparent sheet metal damage. Has anybody ever LineX'ed a bumper? I plan on having my quarter panels done and i think it would be a good finish on the bumper. You think Road Armor would sell one bare metal?

Buckstop makes a rear bumper! And I personally think Line-Xing it is a good idea. They will sell you a bare metal one (at a discount, too!).

Did a little research, the road armor is crazy expensive. However i am having trouble seeing the difference between the buckstop and trailready. the silver is the trail ready, about 565 on the website. the tan is a buckstop, the website did not have a price

WOW !

Thanks for the kick in the pants ! Oo.

I had the famed 48RE "slip outta Park" deal on my truck, and have been going back and forth with DC on it (another whole drama). Tailgate and bumper took the hit (oh yea --- and $10,500 worth of damage to a porch and house) OOOPS. I never even thought about changing/updating my bumper when I get it fixed. Now I've got some investigating to do ... .....

Here is the pricing for buckstop from the site:

Dodge '03-'05 $565 alone, $515 when purchased with front. All others $515 alone, $465 when purchased with front

Looks like the same prices you posted for the TrailReady.

Same rearender thing happened to me and I'm going to be ordering a Buckstop for my truck. I've just been trying to decide on color. I'll probably go with black.

Can't comment on the Buckstop rear bumper, but I am completely satisfied with the front. Great quality and finish. Well over 1 year and not 1 blemish on the finish.

Thanks for the responses, i think i am leaning towards the buckstop. the only difference i can see is one has a round radius at the bottom corner and the other is more angled. plus i really like thosE PIAA's on the buckstop.

When I got rear ended with 3k miles on my truck, I took the opportunity to upgrade the bumper and factory hitch. I put on a Ruenel and my towing capacity jumped because the factory hitch will NOT support the the tow rating of the rest of the truck.

It ended up costing me $12 plus the insurance settlement.

Did you put on a class 5 hitch? I couldn't even find a ball and ball mount that was rated at the capacity of the class 4 hitch, and i got the solid aluminum one from uhaul.

The Ruenel hitch integrated into the bumper is rated at 5K+ pin weight and 20K trailer weight.

Wow those are very nice looking. Next time I have 5 thousand $$$ +++ to drop on bumpers I know where I'm going.

I am not against getting a Reunel, but they are a little pricey and if they do have an integrated class 5 hitch, do i remove my stock hitch? does the reunel replace the rear cross member if the hitch is removed/
