After seeing all of the posts here about the capabilities of this Cummins Diesel, I took the plunge! With the help of Rip Rook (www.sourceautomotive. biz) here in the Northwest, my '01 2500 4x4 6spd is getting a major bomb job... SouthBend Con FE clutch, DDII injectors, Edge Comp box, Piers HX-40 turbo, 4" exhaust (Rip's custom deal!), AutoMeter Z series guages (pyro, boost and fuel pressure - stock look - white numbers, red needle), larger banjo bolts, PE fuel pump, and AFE funnel ram intake. Warning for the do-it-yourselfers out there. According to Rip, and others on this board, that 6spd transmission weighs over 400lbs! Bent the heck out of the platform on his transmission jack. I'm really glad I have Rip doing the work. A real professional, and a really nice person to work with. He's keeping me posted on progress through phone calls and email notes. I dropped by this evening to look at the progress he's making, and it's looking great! He had to weld a mounting plate by the fuel tank for the PE pump. Really clean job... painted the plate and the welds. . rubber mounts to isolate the noise... . and that PE pump is almost too nice to hide under the truck. Rip's prices are really reasonable as well.
It should be done in the next day or so... . I'll keep you all posted.
