Called today and sure enough, the guy ordered it first thing this am. (Just like he promised Sat. ) Should be here in 3 days. Worst thing is I have to drive my mom's grand am that day while it is being put in. It is made by powertrax, the folks at Detroit LOcker don't have one for the 3. 55 ratio. I want to tie onto something and watch both back tires spin!!!

okie-go I will put money on that your locker will not last 6 months. I have not had very good luck with this type of locker. I would some how find a way to do a detroit or an ARB. This opinion is from my own experiences, this may be just my bad luck. Let me know how it works for you!

750. 00 out the door. I can't have any worse luck with this one than the oem. It don't work either. I need mine often enough to warrant spending the money to get it. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

The guys from PowerTrax said it would with stand something like 33,000 ft-lbs of torque where the Dana 70 could only handle 10,000 ft-lbs of torque. I think it would be strong enough. I'm interested in a report on how it drives.

A PowerTrax Lockright has been in the rear of my truck for 70,000 miles with no trouble. Mine has survived the TST power enhancement, extended off road use with a truck over GVWR, and many highway miles with the truck and trailer running over GCVWR. Oh yes, it bangs, clicks, hiccups and chirps like any good locker, then locks solidly when one wheel looses traction. As with any true locker, driving on ice can be interesting. Just use good sense when traction is marginal.

FWIW, the D80 Hybrid Dodge version of the Lockright is just a D70 model because the 80 hybrid side gears and axle shafts are the same as a 70. There is a hardened differential cross pin available as an option - order it if you have an 80.

I second Jordan's opinion. Lock-Rights are marginally better than EZ-Lockers, but both of them are junk and not suitable for rear axles. I've seen lots of these units fail. It has also been my experience that Detroits behave much better.

Gosh, I hope I didn't make a mistake. I like the positive comments much better. I know Detroit may be better but I don't want or need the 4. 10 gears. I still think it will hold especially in slick and muddy conditions where it will get the most of it's use. With a lot of weight in the bed and pulling something on concrete it is possible to tear up anything.

Did you order the new No-spin? I find it hard to believe that there are that many out there to have them be breaking all the time. Sounds like the others may be talking about a different locker from the same company. I believe Rick D (not going to try to spell the name) who have the older Lock-rite in his truck with no problems.
