I have an '06 megacab with the OEM NAV radio. The Joystick on the NAV needs replacement. I have a replacement part from Ebay. Problem is getting the radio out of the truck. The factory maint manual just says remove the center console Bezel by releasing the retaining clips. Where are the clips and how do I access them? Do I need a special tool? HELP. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Bezel will POP out, thats the easy part,When you remove the Unit... the antenna cable removal will need extreme care and I MEAN extreme care, the little wire inside the cable likes to break off inside the unit... if it breaks off the unit will need to dissemble and the piece removed, thats the easy part the cable will need to be R/R and it's PITA.

There are 2 screws at the bottom of the bezel... . If you have a center console you will need to take it out to get to the screws. Pulling and tugging will not pop the bezel out if the screws are in it... . You'll only mar up the edges of your dash every time you wedge a screwdriver in.

If you have a center console that has to come out to get to the two screws identified in the photo. Most guys leave the screws out when they reassemble just in case they need to get back in. Then it is just a matter of pulling the bezel back from the dash. It is held in with metal retaining clips so you have to pull pretty hard to get it to pull loose, but as long as the screws are out you should not break anything.

As for the antenna, don't just try and pull it out. It has a locking sleeve that pulls back to release it. That is the plastic piece you will see that is going into the radio around the cable. Push in on the cable while pulling back on the plastic sleeve to release it, then pull back on both without letting go of the sleeve. It can be a PITA the first time, but once it comes apart and you see how it's made you will be able to do it no problem.

Thanks everybody. I didn't know I had to remove the center console. Also thanks for the tips on the antenna connector. I will let yo know how it goes. Mike
