Because they ruled on something they had minimal jurisdiction over???????? The judges should have simply dismissed the case, the petitioner could not show how they were harmed. Another case of making law, not interpreting the law

Whadaya mean, minimal jurisdiction? Federal Courts have been interpreting the Constitution and such since the early 1800's. That includes disputes directly involving State Supreme Courts. Our system is set up such that a Federal Court is above the State Courts in matters of constitutionality. And Justice Roy came right out and said he wasn't going to follow the court order - a very plain case of contempt of court. You go into the lowest traffic court in the smallest jurisdiction in this country and tell a judge you aren't going to follow his order - you won't even have to go on TV to do it before he sticks you in jail.

This isn't making law, it's interpreting it. Since the Framers of the Constitution weren't nice enough to build time machines to the future so they could make the Constitution match EVERY possible future advance, we have courts to interpret what they meant and match it up against the current law of the land.

The U. S Supreme Court has the commandments etched in stone at the top of the interior of their court.

Gray will be out and the vote to remove him will not be close.

By giving illegals driver license's they will be eligible to vote! You can do it at our DMV. The license is a valid "passport" to travel in the U. S.

You missed my point lonner!!!!!! Someone had to file suit. It is my understanding, and I could be wrong, that for a federal suit to move forward, the person filing must show HOW they were harmed. The granite block was in the lobby, the Judge did not MAKE anyone read them, bow down to them, or recite them. How was anyone harmed???????



The constitution states that the government will not declare ANY religion that of the countries. They will NOT support one over another or favor one or another. Most judo-christian religions follow these basic biblical principals. The country was founded with Christianity as it's base (could not think of a better word).



And as another (thanks AKAMAC) stated, the commandments are etched in stone at the Supreme Court. Where did the court order originate from???? Some federal judge trying to MAKE law instead of interpret law... ..... .

Yup - the Ten Commandments are on the Supreme Court - in HEBREW! Along with a number of other things that have contributed to modern law. Plus they are high up in the air, not down on the ground. This nation is great because religion has, for the most part, been kept in churches and not courthouses.

I agree about the CA Driver's license issue - my position on illegal aliens is further to the right than most of my views.

I still believe America was founded with fear of religion as it's base.

No offense to Senator McClintock, but he doesn't stand a snowball's chance of winning unless Arnold falls down a well. As I stated elsewhere on this forum, the conservatives who paid for this recall have three different ways of getting hosed - either the recall fails and Davis wins, or Bustamante wins and is more liberal than Davis, or Schwarzeneger wins and is socially liberal all along. I call that lack of foresight, but it amuses me greatly.

Arnold may have some socially liberal views, but he is a fiscal conservative. That is what Calif. needs. McClintock can't be elected. (period) For the good of the state, McClintock needs to step aside, he is splitting the conservative vote. If he doesn't Cruz will be our next Gov.

I have even heard on a conservative radio show, that if McClintock stays in the race, many conservatives will vote against the recall. Due to the fact that they would rather have Davis than Cruz.

Oh, I agree 100% that a fiscal conservative is what California needs - but it's funny watching the GOP there get all bent out of shape about his social views. This is especially true when the recall is (ostensibly) about economic issues anyhow.

And I respectfully disagree that Senator McClintock, if he had the same resources as the major candidates, would BE the front runner. Like it or not, CA is (outside of pockets like Orange County) not a particularly conservative state. It's his views that will keep him from getting elected, not his lack of money. In fact, the way this has been set up really negates the lack of money - you don't have to pay for an expensive primary or a whole year of campaigning.

Ah, as the conservatives point out, it says neither freedom of nor freedom from religion. But if you are atheist or deist, it is indeed freedom from religion that's important. And if you are Islamic or Buddhist or just plain don't want to be bothered, freedom from evangelical Christianity is a wonderful part of being American.

To steer this threat back on topic - who saw the debate? Did it change anybody's mind here?

I hope either McClintock wins or Bustamecha. If its McClintock we get a good conservative Gov. If its Bustamecha then we get to prepare.

At one time Arnold would have been a good candidate, but now he has turned into a politician.



According to some McClintocks biggest fault is that he refuses to compromise his principles, that to me is his greatest virtue.



I don't care what your principles are, what I care about is that you will stand by them and not compromise. That way I can vote for the candidate who most represents my point of view.

ACLU = American Civil (we get to pick and choose which, and tell you what they actually mean, because we know best, we are smarter than you) Liberties Union.





Gridlock is good, if something is important enough it will be enacted. Otherwise, we don't need it.



My Definition of a: Law

Something that either takes money from tax payers or infringes on the rights of tax payers.
