After I was finally able to get to it, did I screw it up? I used a needle and syringe and got plenty of grease into the fitting (evident by squeeze out). However, I pushed the syringe in too far and probably broke the seal mechanism. What is the seal mechanism? A ball and spring? If so, they are probably floating around in there somewhere (I don't see the ball).

I'm considering running it as is versus taking the joint off the truck and try fixing it on the bench. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

You actually managed to shove the ball and spring up inside there!?

I suggest leaving it alone and see what happens. However, I encourage you to plug the now-open hole somehow. Maybe coat the "dish" with a little RTV, which can easily be peeled away for re-greasing later.

I use a needle without a syringe to lube mine. I push the needle in until is stops then use a pointed grease gun tip in the open end of the needle. Works great and no issues with grease leak. But I haven't broke off the needle either. If the needle tip is still in the hole and holding open the valve you could try an appropriate sized drill bit to 'snag' the needle shaft and pull it out. Or, centrifical force of the shaft spinning as you drive may spit it out. I'd drive it and watch it.

Yea I agree with RPosey, Where is the hidden driveline fitting, I already know that when you tell me where it is it will no longer be "hidden" Please tell me anyway.

Thanks
