It's a finned alluminum case that attaches to the PTO opening on the manual transmissions, one on each side. It holds 2 more quarts of lube, and has a port for a gauge sender, and as you drive the fins help to keep you trans cooler, hense the name "fast coolers".
The 6-speed has a wider body case and as such the coolers need to be shallower to allow for a 4" exhaust and clear the swing arm on the left side, that is the only difference, bolt patterns are the same. If you have a lift or some double shock system up front to keep the front end from fully compressing you might be ok with a full depth cooler (5-speed).
I have a set of these on my 6spd. They fit with my 4" exhaust also. I remember reading there was a 40 degree drop in the oil temp of the transmission. I agree with more oil = cooler gears and temps.
Still have a set available. I may be interested. I will be pulling a heavy load to Wyoming and would like to keep my transmission in one piece. Got a 6 speed trans.
Someone here did a test when they first came out, he already had a trans sender installed, he said they dropped the max temp 40*F. I dont remember who it was.
