As a matter of fact, that's where we had just eaten after a day of target shooting, and a foot race. The truck race was the day's last event. :D



I agree you'd have to be really crazy to race down Floyd Hill!

These events were with previous truck; second gen with injectors & Blue Box-

Driving home one night with 20' trailer loaded with ATV's & went to pass a Jeep Cherokee on a 2 lane country road. Jeep driver took issue & hammered it as I went to the left lane. Well, a little flip of the switch and the jeeper got lost in the cloud and we showed him what the third digit on the speedo is for. :D



Same trailer & load another time. I was proceeding through traffic on a six-lane when I noticed a PSD (empty & unloaded) slip in behind me and proceed to follow. Well, I knew the game was afoot, and we're both just waiting for the lights to catch us. A few miles on I caught a red in the center lane. He whipped over to the right lane. Perrrrrfect- he's on the exhaust side.

Light changes, he nails it, and I let him get about half a length just so he's feeling good... then I get into it and roar by him spewing the cloud all over his Ford. After that he fell back and didn't want to play any more. :(



Dang it, now you've got me wanting to bomb the new truck!

Humbled a VW today

This is really the first time (except if you count that white 05 CTD that keeps trying to smoke me :-laf ) I got a oppurtunity to smoke a ricer (Well it was a VW so mebbe a perogie?? :confused: ) since I had my truck. Sitting at a light 2 lane turn lane hes on the loud pipe side, I was kinda in a mood so I had my pass. window down and was liking the sound of the straight 4" resonating off the VW so I blipped the loud pedal a few times. I had no intentions of competiton but I came outta the corner kinda hard and noticed VW man was right there so i knew it was go time. Banged through 2nd, we were even then 3rd he started to get in my rearview by the time I hit 4th was around 65 he was at least 2 truck lenghts behind then I had to call it off, he came past me sounded like he was taching around 7 grand and yelled something that sounded like farfengruven :-laf and I had to turn around because I completley blew past the place I was going to.

Fun though made my night after having a rough day at work Oo.
 
Race With Co-Worker..{FUNNY}

Well, tonight after it got dark on the way out of the warehouse a Black gangster thug co-worker of mine {pretty cool cat, so no big deal}. . followed me out the gate onto the industrial parkway kinda tailgating me a little. . so i figured i would blow him some smoke signals. . he kept messing. {He was in a grand-am with some stuff on ****. The left turn light turned green and we merge onto 3 lane street he tries to blow past me on the left . . WRONGO. . i dialed the comp to 5X5 and the truck {when cold} literally leaps off the ground. . i looked over as the truck launched and saw a pair of huge white eyes looking in shock that a 4x4 dually could pull that hard :eek: :-laf ... he rolled down his window and said "dayum man, that big ol truck is fasta than a mothaf'er. . sh!!!!!t" LOL i was laughing so hard i had to pull off the road :-laf
 
Finally! First race of the year.

On the way home cruising in down town minneapiolis. Washington street heading east toward I35w south/55. I'm on the phone.



It's the boxy model year M3. I think they ended in 98? 99? or 2000?. looks 100% stock (turns out to be stock). With the exception to a little after market wing. (2 asians driving it, so yeah :). but nothing huge and pointless.



So I roll some coal and get their attention. They follow me on to the enterance. I take it easy till I get to 4th and give her the go peddle I look in my mirror and I see them fall back a little... . squeez between the dummest merging area in the state, lots of road after tho. the M3 gets though and catches up as I'm getting into 55. little bit of traffic to dive inbetween. Still on the phone here! :)



I get another a 5th gear pull with the M3 and I pull a little again. Looking, looking looking, 3200 rpm, phone! there we go 6th, pull on the M3 again! :) slow down at lake street. They blow by and take the lake exit. At this point my conversation is over and I hang up.



These Nitto's SUCK for acceleration around a turn BTW.



Ok. so we grab a light on lake. Keep in mind, this road is a little bumpy. light goes green and I easy out a 2nd gear 4x4 launch. I SHOULD put 1 or 2 trucks if I would of put the hammer down! But, I stay dead even with the 50/50 ballanced M3. Good grab of 3rd gear, drop out of 4x4 at this point. once I shifted 4th (officaly 2x4) and start to hit the bumps at that speed you can feel the wheels lift and the RPM's increase, Maybe this is also the clutch slipping some here and there.



After about 80mph was reached I was down about 1 car. If I stayed in 4x4 the entire time, better results would of been yeilded. This is for sure showing that the M3 is ment to RACE the truck is not. The M3 obviously kept the tires on the ground where I couldn't :) ohh well. It was a small rush I haven't had in month.



The looks on the faces of these guys were of complete utter AWE. I love the reaction you get from some people. That's often the best part.

Ram vs. 7.3

Ok, so this Ferd passed me on the highway, maybe a 2001 or so. We merged onto another highway, and eventually I caught up to him. We werent speedin by now, but I saw him start blowin some smoke. So, box went on 4, (cuz 5 threw a code last week :rolleyes: ) and I started followin him closely.



We went from 70 to about 100, and I would get close, then back off, and do it again, cuz he wasn't acceleratin as fast as I was :-laf . He got stuck behind some cars, so I blew by him and lost him for a few minutes.



So, I'm goin about 70 now and I see him comin up again, doin at least 90, closin real fast. So, I floored it and started to pull away, gettin up to 105 or so. Oo. He exited not long after that.



Sooooo... ... what would a SPS 62 do for me in this situation? I'm thinkin of a bigger turbo, and I know it would help in terms of power, but how much?
 
Early Sunday morning (no traffic) I finely found someone who wanted to race. I lined up with a lifted Black Ford Excursion. (When I was behind him I notice a lot of black smoke every time he shifted-so he wasn't all show. ) The light went green and I immediately pulled him by a 1/2 truck length. By the end of two short blocks, he was about 1 1/2-2 truck lengths behind me. :cool:
 
Tonigh heading down MD-5. A Ferd passes me while I'm battleing it out with the law obiding citizens in the fast and slow lanes. About 5 miles down I finally catch up to this guy doing about 70.

As I start to pass him I hear him floor it and start to pull away. I let him get a truck lengh on me and i floor it. By the time I get past him I am doing about 10 MPH faster than him.

I let get about a truck lengh back and let off to let him catch up. As soon as he got back even with me I matched him on speed and he looked real happy about it, that is till I used the rest of the pedal. Oo.
 
This afternoon after a trip to the shooting range a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (the supercharged version of GP) decides it wants a little action, first it passes me on the 2 lane section of the road. As luck would have it the road widens to 4 lanes not too long thereafter. I wasn't able to get directly next to the guy at the light, but I went behind him. He decides to spin the tires a bit to show off, so I proceed to take that moment to turn the TST up to 5/5. Light goes green, I stick to his bumper like glue. Wasn't really blowing past him, but he was definitely not pulling away either. Got to run side by side once from a red light as well. Then, at the next couple of lights we talk a little bit, and you should've seen his face when he asked what I had under the hood and I replied "just a little 6 cylinder diesel"... He was definitely complimentary of the truck and so forth, definitely good natured respectful individual there... I don't think he's going to look at pickups quite the same after that experience...
 
its always a good time when we bombvoy to events up here in the northland. well a buddy with a d-max joined us for the fun. as he was coming down the on ramp to join the convoy he pined it as did i. when i walked by him with my speedo maxed out i get the finger than he has to pull over and reset his transmission :-laf he had to reset it twice on the trip to the event, just trying to hang with a little cummins.

CTD vs SLK 350

So this guy is being a hardass driving in city traffic in and our lanes, revving the crap outa his little v6. So I take it upon my self to put this guy in his place.



I he finally makes a lane change and gets in front of me, he's first at the light. light goes green, he goes, I jump on it, tire spin and lots of smoke and noise. He guns it, I grab 3rd and pace him for a block and pull over to the middle lane at the next light. This is down town, on Washington street, just before 35W. So we got a good 2 or 3 or something blocks before the right turn to hit up 35w south.



I roll up and blip the throttle a few times, he looks over and laughs and laughs. I had hte GF in the truck, THE PERFECT "I'm in a big truck, I have a GF, I'm showing off" bate for these suckers. So the left turn lights turn yellow and I just idle her up to 1600, 2nd gear, 4x4. Didn't hammer it outa the hole, but I stayed 1/2 to almost 1 full truck infront on the launch (still waiting to get that clutch in stalled).



I had him to enterance to 35w due to some car being a retard getting into the gas station. It was about 0-60 run. HE DID NOT attempt to run me open highway tho. :) geee wonder why!



It was a good race, I pulled maybe tops 1 full space between him and me with some sloppy shifting. The SLK is a 260hp, 3200# car with a 7 speed auto (assuming it was a 2005, I looked a year or two older, not sure, not upto date on my SLKs).



The same 1/4mile calc I used for my truck, factor in the SLK's numbers 3400# (with driver) and 190hp at the wheels puts it at 14. 5.
 
SS trailblazer vs Cummins

So here me and the GF are, putzing down the highway. Cruise set at 65 (in a 55). So I make a pass around 2 cars. get over and continue on my way at 6:30-ish in the morning.



All of a sudden, as I get settled into my lane this retard in a black trailer blazer passed me at WOT. GF's like "what this dumb@$$, he's slow back down to 55 and you'll have to pass him again. ".



Sure enough, I'm getting closer this is tard again. Some lady merges as I'm in the left lane about to make my re-pass approach. She speeds up. and starts to PACE ME. I hate this at 6:30 in the AM when there are 3 cars on the freaking road.



So I kick the cruise up to 70 to get around her. Box on 5 cuz I bet the trailblazer is going to try to be "fast" again and I planned on putting him back in his place.



So, as I get up to 70, the SS speeds up. so I kill the cruise and do 75, he matches, I roll into the throttle hard and stick her to WOT. From a total of what I recall as 5 or 6 cars back I put my passenger window next to his as I reach 108mph. This 108mph stuff really sucks. backed off. the SS would of kept going. But I did have an exit to attend to.



SS balzer. 400 flywheel HP 4900# with driver = mid 14's according to some googling. A good tune on the ECM and K/N nets one SS mid 13's on drag times.com





heh, 6 cars from a 75mph roll. . :)
 
i guess my 12v is spunkyier then i thought, i dragged a 2500 crew cab 3rd gen 6 speed and spanked him on the way home, it's late i am tired and not really looking for trouble sitting first in line at a light, bout half way though the light a 3rd gen rattles up on my left, light changes and i am starting my usual easy take off to not kill traffic behind me and the 3rd gen takes off with a straight pipe blast, oh this won't do, he has me by about a truck length due to my slow start and now my left ear is ringing from his raspy straight pipe, i gotta return the favor as i can offend ambidextrously with the duals, didn't take long to reel him in and put a couple truck lengths on him by about 70, i got out of it around 80 and he took up station a 100 or so feet ahead of me as i backed down closer to the 50 mph speed limit, road split into 3 lanes a couple miles ahead and we kept the center between us, i guess to make sure i herd his exhaust brake he down shifted all the way to first at the next light, after that traffic bunched up and the fun was over, i kinda wanted one more where i was actually trying from the start :-laf :D
 
The other day I was driving in a 50mph zone. And this Ford truck with Orange flames down the side passed me. I passed him not challenging him but because I could. Well he didn't like that so he passed me. Thats fine I thought. So I got behind him to pass a slow car. He kept blowing smoke at me! It wasn't nice smoke either! It was I'm in front of you so eat this smoke! Not cool to me! So I planned to go by him when it turned to 70mph. But he zoomed away. He got behind a slower car so I had the chance to pass, so I did! He once again didn't like this! So he got right behind me! I was over this game. I have a perfect driving record so I wasn't going to screw it up and get a ticket. So I got over once I passed the slower cars and he zoomed by! He was a dot far off. But then he started slowing down. Like he wanted me to race him! He was in the slow lane as if he was going to get off the freeway at the next exit. So I got in the fast lane and passed him not fast but I passed him. That sent him over the edge!! Man it was easy to **** him off!! He got on my tail until he passed the car next to me and sped into the slow lane. Just enough time to get off the freeway! He almost missed his exit just so he could beat me! I think he had a box because every time he put his foot in it he would blow smoke! It was pretty cool because he probably had some mods and he wanted to race me! In my stock truck! It was also cool that I was able to pass him a few times!
 
going home from the chicks house last night, had the cruise control set at 75 on the freeway there are a couple big hills coming into town where people who are diesel challenged lose speed and have to down shift to keep the speed limit I come up on the only other car on the road in the fast lane up the first hill losing speed, so I move over to pass in the right lane but he doesent like that I guess so as I get closer he just cuts in front of me. all right *** hole I was thinking. I move to the left lane and come back to 75, he gets on my *** and stays there as we crest the first hill, gave him a warning puff but he stayed right there. coming up on the second hill I guess he wanted to play nascar and draft and pass me. (going up hill) good luck guy. I let him get even with me and hit it pulling a length ahead, then evened out, then pulled again then evened out, then hit it and waived good by to the nice tard. :-laf
 
After installing a set of trial injectors on a saturday nite, I went into town. Met a guy with an '05 vette. It was the "hot" one, whatever it's called(Z06?). The guy wanted to race but I didn't know my truck with the new injectors yet so I said no. Well, after his girl said something about my "slow" truck, I said let's do it. It was a 1 mile stretch of 4 lane road. 35mph speed limit with a cop lookin on the other direction. We took off from the lite with the understanding that at 35mph we'd go!! So off we went, I figured to lose but gave it all I had. He got his rear bumper to my back door, then I passed him. not by much cuz we were doin triple digits and I was almost topped out. We pulled into walmart parking lot and he says something about my truck being a little fast for a diesel! He was a good-natured guy and loved every minit of it! He wanted some pictures of the pony under the hood... wonder why! What a thrill!!!
