Scott and the Missus are vacationing. They have been down through the Shenandoah Valley, visiting train sites and Civil War battlefields. After a night in Roanoke, they took in the Transportation Museum and the O. Winston Link Museum. He was the photographer that documented the last days of steam locomotives.
Me and my Missus had prepared a dinner for the travellers. They arrived just after 1600. After snooping under the hood and drooling in the engine compartment, we went inside to eat. It was a very enjoyable time and we wished they could stay the night. However, they were commited to getting to their accomodations in Charlotte, NC.
After I got a diagnosis from the good Doctor (Greenleaf), we took a few pictures to document our mini-1st Gen Jamboree. We said our goodbyes and they were on the road again by 1945. It was our pleasure to meet and spend time with someone I have gotten to know in our small but distinguished circle.
If any of you folks are heading down I-81 and have the time to get off the main road for a while, please let me know. Plenty of parking space!
Here's the picture of this years attendees. (I'm the good looking one!)
