Son says Daddy, How was I born (humor)

I think Im gonna be SICK

I went to see Gretchen Wilson in concert last night. I figured what the heck, it was a free concert. They said there was 30k people through the gates and I bet 1 out of 4 people didnt go through the gates so close to 40k in the croud. I was very surprised, she can sing studio quality vocals from the stage. She wasnt hard on the eyes either. Oo. I would reccomend going to see her.

They have computers that can do studio quality vocals in a live show enviroment now days. Hello Shania!!

I personally cannot STAND her buddies Big&Rich. Real country being made these days is Dale Watson, not that "Freak Parade". :)

I have to agree. Very few who make "real country" anymore. B&R ain't it. Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy), WTF kind of song is that? Shania hasn't been "country" past her debut CD. Too much cross-over crap.

Give me Alan Jackson, George Strait or G. Jones. any day. :D

You sound like you might like Dale Watson, give him a listen!! Oo.

I am pretty much a "real country" fan. But some cross-over crap is ok some of the time. It's when they play it 90 times a day it sucks. I'd still rather listen to George Strait, Chris LeDoux, or Alan Jackson any day.

Lonestar got assimilated too. They need to listen to their song "When Cowboys Didn't Dance" again. Went from hats and boots, to sweaters and highlights. :( To many guys going with the "pretty boy" image.

Could be. I'm sure I've heard some, just never had a name to put it to.

We also need more like Ricky Scaggs, Bill Monroe, Merle Haggard, Vern Gosdin, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Horton, Dolly Parton and Allison Krauss, to name a few. :D

Interesting point. With that said, I burned--- er-- bought the Big n Rich CD. The CD is great. A lot of humor and tongue in cheek.

As for traditionalists, the only current NEWER (debuting in the last 5 years) top 40 artist to really have any traditional country/bluegrass roots and sound is Brad Paisley. The dude can just plain pick and sing.

And as far as Gretchen Wilson goes, she's just butt ugly. I was flippin' around the channels one saturday and saw this ugly chick singing the national anthem for the Busch race. I thought to myself, "who is this seacow?" Turns out it was her. Saw one of her videos the next day... ... TV and makeup can do miracles. It was two totally different people. . I swear.

I haven't given them a label. I have listened to the CD on www.cmt.com . I do like some of their songs, including "Wild West Show".

The same can be said of Jo Dee Messina. Heard her on the radio program "The Road" once. She can't carry a tune in a bucket. Never impressed with her singing most of the time anyhow, even on a CD, but it was REALLY bad.

Wow wished I could have been there. Could use some more of those kinda gals.

I like country and rock. If it sounds good I'll listen too it. There is no one kind of country now days. Wich is good. Otherwise it would all just sound the same.
