Ok Guys I need a little help here. I am going to get a brush guard, I am thinking about the Manik. I want something strong, the local parts store want $1000. 00 + 40. 00 to install it. I found it at bestdarnparts.com for $719. 89. They have free shipping. What I like to know is, Does any of you have this guard, if so, how do you like it? Also if any of you know of something better or just as good. kind of hard to tell how it will look on the truck buy the computer.

Thanks

Thunderball

Thunderball, Never heard of them but in my oppinion there are 2 good choices out there for total replacment bumpers, the Denver off road or the Ranchand, both of these are tough as well as good looking... ... ... ..... hit a deer and still looks good. I do know that the OEM are light and cheap and will NOT withstand a deer or anything, I was shocked when I took my OEM off, sold them for $100 each and still feal funny about it... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... If you Love your truck go for the total replacment bumper:cool: ... ... Kevin

You could check out the bull bar or full replacement from ali arc. They are aluminum made in Canada. A lot of semi-trucks run these in our area. The bull bar is under new products on the website www.aliarc.com. The bull bar is about $550 full replacement 850-900.

Blakers:

Yes there are websites. www.denveroffroad.com and www.ranchhand.com. Denver off road's site leaves a little to be desired but Layne is not a computer savy person. He just moved from Denver to Fruita CO and has a new phone number don't know if it is on the website or not but it is 970-858-8400. I have one of his bumpers on order now and am anxiously awaiting its completion. His move put him behind schedule but when I talked to him a couple weeks ago he was starting production back up again. Don't know much about the Ranchhands they look nice but are metal not aluminum like the DOR bumper (not that that is bad). I also agree from earlier post. The stock front bumper is a pos and anything you attatch to it will not be any stronger than the bumper.

rear bumpers?

I was looking at the ranchhand "Dually" for my truck. I am looking for something that does rap around the dually fender that I can use as a step. I am also looking for nerf bars that will also rap around the front part of the dually fenders that can be used as a step. I have a Century T-Class shell and I put my boat up there. Would be nice to have something to step up on to reach the tie-down. Are there any others to look at.

Ranch hand

I have the replacement front end and really like it. Looks real mean. I got rear ended 2 nights ago so I'll get the rear "Dually" bumper from RH also. I'll post the results when it's on the truck.

I am a really big fan of the Denver Off Road bumpers (strong and light!!), and I will be getting one soon, but...

I have a RanchHand front grill guard (not the replacement) and it has been holding up real well, even after taking out 4 deer at high speed (I admit, those 4 impacts have taken their toll on the guard, but not yet to the point of replacement).

I also have the Ranchhand rear bumper, and I will say that it is tough as nails! I once did some work for a woman who's husband had just died, and she had a big ranch out in Colorado. She had almost 20 wooden posts (each about 8" in diameter) that she wanted gone, but we could only lift 10 of them out of the ground. So what did I do? You guessed it, I backed over the rest of them, snapping off each one at ground level, and leaving nary a mark on the bumper. Not to mention the Civic that rearended me a while back! Not a high-speed collision, but enough to hurt the Civic dearly...

Moral of the story? Get a Ranch Hand and fuggehdaboudit!

Hey guys

I am not sure I want to replace the bumper, I like the look of my bumper, I am just looking for a good grill/brush guard. one that really strong. I just don't want to spend alot of $ for one that not strong.

Do the replacement

It is a nice place to put your feet while servicing your rig. I have a Ranch Hand front end replacement and their rear bumper (non wrap around). There are some other good brands out there too.

I beg to differ about South and West Texas. I see mostly Ranch Hand front end replacements on all brands.
