i was wondering if anyone knows if the earlier years of of the CTD shuch as the 89' models would fit on my 93 d350. i was wondering because i like the aftermarket grill insert that banks features in their 89' power pacs. i also like the head light conversion from 2 to 4 headlights. any info would help.

I think that the 81 had four headlights but the rest of the gril won't work with the intercooler on the 93. At least it is my understanding that the protrusion of the grill was to accomodate the cooler. Try it and let us know. I too like the four lights.

Four headlights were offered from "79 until they squared up the sheetmetal in the early? 80s. The early grill doesn't fit the later sheetmetal right. Looking at the two styles from the front, the earlier trucks are kind of curved on the sides of the grill and the later trucks are more square. I've seen newer grills on older trucks, but not the other way around.

i just thought it would look good. if i run across one i will try it and share my results. if not i will try that expanded metal that the ricers use in their grills.

custom y'know.

Well... ... I've been thinking about quad headlights for a while. This is the best I could come up with...

Got to US Body check out the tilt-up fiberglass front ends. I wonder if you could use the earlier front end on our trucks. US Body should probably know that off the top of their heads. Then put the late 70's quad headlight set-up with two sets of ballasted HID lights. One for low and one for high. That would cure any headlight woes. It was also the most expensive way I could figure out to do it

I saw a 1'st gen dodge cummins a couple of years ago that someone had converted to the 70's style grill. The ROUND headlight style. It didn't look too bad from what I could see. So I'm sure that anything could be made to fit with some work.

I, on the other hand, have always wanted to convert from my current Banks grill to a '93 style. I'm not sure if the headlights on my '89 would line up with the holes in the newer grill without some tweaking, but if I ever run across one for cheap I'll give it a try.

i have a '91, busted grille. if any of you get the head of steam up to do this conversion, i have a guy about two hrs north of me with several mid-late 70' dodge trucks in fair to exelnt condition. if i get up that way soon, i can get some contact info. i'm in WI.

Finally, the useless search feature has been of help :) I guess its time to consider one of these fiberglass front ends since yesterday I cracked up heading up I-88. Gust of wind caught the empty horse trailer, sent me into the unplowed (very snow covered) shoulder, trailer jack-knifed, and I ended up smashing into the guardrail, putting a huge gash in the back left of the bed where the trailer hit, pushing the right front into the fender so the turn signal is no longer in sight, and just overall ruined my day (luckily I am ok, and that's all that really matters, right?)..... oh well, I'd wanted to rebuild the old beast anyway, guess I'll have to now (haha). Fiberglass front, Eaton 7 speed, and oak flatbed, here I come. :) I wonder if you can use a Buckstop front bumper with this front tilt hood?

I saw a 93' last week with quad rectangular headlights, it looked neat, then a couple days later I saw a thread on here about Dodge going to be making some new grill shells, then when I was searching on one of the dealer websites there were 2 different grill surrounds listed, one for 2 headlights and one for 4 headlights, it must have been an option at one time, kind of surprised me because until a couple weeks ago I had never seen a newer 1st gen with quad headlights.

From what the autobody estimating guide shows; the quad headlights were 2 years only 79 & 80. The 81-93 were all single light grills.
