Getting mine installed today. Curious to see what, if any, impact to mpg. Will post reply after a tank or so. Guess I'll need to drill a hole in the wheel caps to access the manual hub.

Not worth the coin up front to pay for itself 100k up the road.

Perhaps worth it if you consider less wear, better fuel economy, and... .

2wd Low. I'm sure a lot of guys who tow heavy would love this option. Especially with an aftermarket clutch.

I still wouldn't spend the coin on it. I could see if you were burning through hubs. The 2wd low would be nice for those towing, but how nice is what you have to ask yourself.

I have been waiting to see it on their website. Does anyone know when that is going to happen? If someone made a locker like Detroit Lockers then I think it would be worth having that and a locker.

That would be a very good reason for the hubs.

Dynatrac is slow on updating their website,

Eaton E-locker and detroit have lockers out now for the front AAM 9. 25 its the rear I'm waiting on.

Where can I find the E-locker or the Detroit Locker? Do you have it in your truck and if you do how do you like it and which one do you have? What kind of prices did you pay for it and how much for the install?

The lockers should be the same as the ones used in the GM application... the IFS 9. 25 uses the same center chunk IIRC.

You can also contact Randy's Ring and Pinion. I believe they are in Stockton, CA.

All your major ring and pinion shops should have the e-locker or detroit true trac. I haven't installed one yet but I intend on installing the eaton e-locker mid next year. I have no real reason to do it other than I can. The install would be fairly easy, if you installed you're own locking hubs you can do this. You're not messing with backlash as long as you don't remove your pinion and put all the shims back in as they came out.

Both lockers are very good depending on what you have in mind, I don't know how the true trac will react in a steering application. My personal prefrence would be the Eaton E-locker because of the option to have it fully locked or not. The electric lockers bring alot to the table, reliability is no longer a question, a few oem's have proven that. The great debate mechanical, or selectable air/electric. Which one?

Thanks for the info, now I just gotta save up the money. I called Randy's and it was $680 for the E-locker, they were the only ones I could get in contact with and they were the only ones that advertised it so I was worried about it being the right one. Nobody else list that part and I even emailed Eaton to see if it would fit, but they never got back to me. Thank you, TDR members.

Whoa. Bad info.

Both of those lockers change out the carrier. While it's true you don't take out the pinion and therefor don't change pinion preload, or pinion depth. A new carrier can and will mess up backlash. About half the time a new carrier will install using the old shim setup and work, but the other half of the time there can be either no backlash or excessive backlash. DO NOT put in a new carrier without checking the backlash. I have set up hundreds of ring and pinions, and 20-30 carrier replacements (arb, detroit etc) and it's a 50/50 chance.

I agree... it can and will change the setup (even changing bearings with the same part number and within the same brand can change the overall setup).

Anyone thinking about setting up a group buy on the DynaTrac kit??

I have the E Elocker in my front axle its the same as the chevys all you have to do is grind the housing alot and it will drop in and then drill a hole in the housing our the diff cover for the wires to go thru. It works great,,

I took my truck to Dynatrac the other day bacuase they are going to use it as a test truck for the hub conversion kit. . They havent put a kit on a dually yet which thats what i have,,We couldnt install the kit because the new hub would not fit thru the dually wheel adapter,,so back to the drawing board for the duallys. .
