Those are owe so true. I just became a gun owner my self and the only way for a gun to hurt some one is the miss use by another person. I treat and unloaded gun just as if it is loaded.

You people just talked me into going out and shooting today. It will be the first time my girlfriend has ever shot a pistol. She has only shot a small caliber rifle a couple of times, years ago. This will be interesting.

Sdalton, you might be suprised.

My wife comes from a long line of shooters,(Bullseye pistol mostly) but has never done much shooting herself.

Whenever I take her to the range, she shoots a good double tap to the torso area, and finishes it off with a head shot. Pretty dam fast too.

Freaks the hell out of everyone there. Makes me look worse than I really am.

I'm begining to think she's living a secret second life as a assasin or something.

I now sleep with one eye opened.

She started out with a Browning Buckmark 22 cal. She fired about 100 rounds through this. She said it scared her. She placed all of her shots in about a 12 inch circle at about 15 yards freehand. She then shot my Colt . 45 1911 and freaked out. She shot it 5 times and refused to shoot it any more. The first shot with the Colt was in the bullseye, the rest didnt hit the paper. After that she shot the Browning some more and appreciated the low recoil more now. She did even better after that with the Browning. She is not hooked on pistols. She just told me to add that she is no longer afraid of pistols. All in all it was a great shooting experience for the both of us. She learned about shooting and cleaning the gun, and I got to teach someone in a positive way, and had help with the gun cleaning .

I heard it said once that the Founding Fathers even went too far, themselves, on the First Amendment. It should read simply:



"Congress shall make no law. "

First let me say that I am a cop for an agency that has EXCELLENT response time to emergency calls for service. But anybody that thinks the cops can be there in time to save you from a vicious predator is living in a dreamworld. You should be willing and ABLE to protect yourself and your loved ones whether that means giving you own life or preferably taking someone Else's when you are threatened. If I ever wake to find some @$%hole in my bedroom at 0 dark:thirty, the second thing I'm gonna do is call 911 the first thing I'm gonna do is take care of business.
