I just spent 30 minutes reading this thread, and I'm making an important statement:

Ok, now that that is clear, I will try to get there on Saturday, I have to fly from Boston to Denver and back to New York friday night, I get back into New York at about 7AM on Saturday. I will try to catch an early flight back to Detroit and come over for the afternoon, not sure about the evening.

First Chaz, the output shafts are on backorder, for at least another week and half. Sorry, I'll bring a spare OD unit [stock output shaft] if you are planning on stress testing yours again.



Next Ian, You don't need more thread than you mentioned for the traction bars, the Heim joints PUSH into the bars, they don't pull except with the truck in reverse. Take a look at the physics of the bars action and mount location. This is assuming you are using the same design as mine. BTW I will bring a set of bars or two with me if you want . Bring some $ and I'll cure that 'engineering headache' you have LOL.



Last, for John: all the codes you saw are correct except for the 336 code. When a DTT Smart controller is installed the trans OD relay is removed, jumpered and this creates those codes, and allows the Smart box to control the OD, not the ECM. The 336 code is a bad speed sensor, causing your Tach problems.



I have a set of mounted tires with 1/8" of rubber still remaining, should I bring these to help change the color of that patch of concrete at Johns place??

Im using 403 stainless 1 1/8" solid stock, 3/4" stainless joints. My only issue is setting them up and I have to replace my "U" bolts on the truck since I only have 11/16" of extra thread :( but my buddy's 02 WITH the overload springs has PLENTY of thread to attach a 1/4" plate, lock washer, nut... . ?? I might put the plates on a bridgeport and countersink the hole. Ill get something figured out hopefully. *we need to talk trans ;) *

John, DTT is supposed to be sending me a new, completely different box, and yes I meant crank sensor [engine speed sensor].



Ian, solid stock steel is not as strong as DOM [drawn over mandrel] steel. Compare your 403 solid to 1. 375" DOM for strength before you spend too much time on your project. You can install the axle mounting plate with only good grade 8 nuts, no washers. and you can slightly counter sink the top or axle side of the plates to fit over the factory lock nuts, they are slightly rounded, not flat. 1/4" plate + 1/2" nut = 3/4" minus a slight countersink and you will have full thread coverage for the mounting nuts. Engineering consulting fees are adding up!!! LOL.



I'm going to need to get 'horizontal' for an hour or two on saturday, I will have been up all night with only a short nap on the commuting flight from JFK to DTW, so I may have to claim a bunk in Steve StL's bunkhouse for a short while.

Ive decided not to do any headlight install work up there. It appears you have to remove the entire bumper cover inorder to replace assembly..... and since the bumper is off already... . might as well do it here.

Is anybody setup to do timing and KDP on a 12V?

Planning on going down regardless, just curious if I should bring my truck too

I got the TST kit, just havent installed it yet.

I just tackled the vac/ps pump on mine this weekend and its still fresh in my mind if anybody needs a hand doing one.

Greg Long is there something i can do about my truck losing top end ? EGT's max out at around 1100. Truck feels doggier on top end. I cut that 100 plate hoping to alleviate the problem but i think i only aggrevated it. 38 to 40 PSI boost. BTW glad to hear you're coming, i have something i need to return.

Curtis, check to see that the AFC housing has good boost connections, if the afc housing is loosing boost, then the fuel will be cut back,



At what RPM are you seeing this?? if it is 28-2900, then we may need to give the governor springs an addtional click or two. But this may mess with the idle. Want some 370's??? let me know.

well made it back from the chili cook-off. (didnt win s*#t). Gettting ready for next weekend. Has anything been decided on food?? Think we are going to bring the kettle and a bunch of veggie soup for this one we have to do the soup beans the weekend after.
