I want to mount antennas on the new truck. I'll need one for CB, and one for FM. I am going to use a loaded whip style antenna. Specifically Larson NMO series. Ideal location is on top of the cab, but I have reason not to do that. I'm going to put them on underhood brackets in the same location as most everyone else.

I have had no trouble finding this bracket, but all those I have found have the smaller hole that is used to mount the grounded fiberglass whip. To mount the style that I'm using, the hole needs to be 3/4", and the ground screw hole is not necessary. I know that I could enlarge the hole in one of these brackets, but if someone knows of a source for a bracket of the proper dimension, I would appreciate the lead. Any other tips on mounting appreciated.

Thanks

Check any of your local commercial 2-way radio shops. A Dodge mount with a 3/4" hole for NMO is as common as dirt. We get ours from West Crystal in Kelowna BC 'cuz they're close. (250) 765-4833.

I might have to get them from up there in the great white north. My shop down here is clueless. Good service on the radios, but when I asked for the mounting bracket, it was, "you want what... ?". I'll keep listening.

Antenna mount for Dodge Rams

The mount is made by larson antenna and mounts directly to one of the fender bolts just inside the drivers side of the hood/fender space about 16" from the windshield. It is stainless steel and well made. I am using it for my amateur radio antenna.

Thanks, guys. I know that Larson is right here in Vancouver, but my radio shop draws a blank. They do so well on the radios... .....

I'll try Larson direct.
