I've got a DATE

Any recommendations for an INEXPENSIVE handheld/portable CB to use when dragging the trailer? I don't really want a permanent one.....

Also, does FRS cover the CB frequency band?

I don't know of any brands off hand but get one that doesn't use a 9volt battery. They don't last. Also ck into if they have a car adapter to run them on 12volts when in the truck. I have a old set of portables they are Uniden and they work well. They have 2 different battery holders. One for 1. 5 volt throw-aways and one for 1. 2 volt ni-cads. One thing nice about portables is if you are trying to park in a tight place, your other half can guide you in at the back of the trailer

I have one from Radio Shack that works great. It uses 9 AA batteries I believe or you can run it on a car adapter - I usually use the car adapter. I believe it was around $50.

Before I got my new radio I had a Cobra Handheld. Big Daddy could be a good 1. 5 miles ahead on windy wooded roads and I would come in allright. Nice part is that you can go from vehicle to vehicle and the batteries last for what seems like forever.
