:) just filled up last night for the 2nd time, went 391 miles on 19. 9 gallons, works out to 19. 64 mpg, truck had 754 miles on it at time of fillup. This is slightly better milage than I was getting on my 2001 with 105K on it under the same conditions (back and forth to work). I am hoping it will only get better with age... Bill

I was getting 21-22 on my 01, 6 Speed. Now my calculated is averaging 20. 5. Plus, I have the auto now which is not a efficient. For a 3/4 ton truck, I'm happy. Especially when my brother in law and his 6. 0 Furd F-250 is only doing about 16.

I get about 21. 5 in the city now, and 18 on interstate. For the amount of power and the size of the truck, NO ONE can complain about that! :D

I think DPKetchum hit the nail on the head, driving style. I don't get on it very hard from a stop and try to keep my rpm's between 1600 and 1800. unfortunately when you get on the freeway and your doing 75mph the rpm's climb and mpg tend to go down. At the end of the month I'll be towing about 9K from Northern Utah to Southern Az. I'll report back my calculated mpg's then.

Some guys can't do math :-laf

ok so what is the secret to this fuel milage because im only getting like 15 to 17!!!

Very rare to get 20+ mpg in a CTD unless it is your wife driving or you have a 2wd

ok good as long as im not the only one!! i just did the tone ring mod, so ill see if i cant do any better now. and im leaving in the morning for the outer banks so i will have some highway miles to calculate...

;) ;) My next trip to Calif next month will be in my CTD. . yesterday, I dod a 550 mile round trip to Calif for an appointment and returned the same day. I took the wife's 2005 Chrysler Sebring convertible just because the weather south of Lake Shasta was 85 degrees + and I figured, i would make it a nice trip with the top down. Well, the last time I drove that car, I was doing 75 - 80 mph and got at best 25 mpg. Well, yesterday, i made up my mind to give myself plenty of time to get there and get home so I tried to keep it at 65 and just enjoy the ride. I was at a total SHOCK to watch the mileage meter show 31. 2 mpg on the entire trip! Not beleiving the computer, due to the fact that the one on my truck is usually OFF, I did the math this morning after a complete fill up at the same station and the same pump, to the top of the neck. 31. 7 mpg!!!! With that in mind, next month, Im going to take my truck and set the cruise at 65 and see what happens. Hopefully it will be 20+ mpg on the trip. (my best was 2 months ago between Fallon Nv. & Las Vegas. I got just over 23 mpg at 65-68 mph with the cruise) That should be enough to get me back in the driver seat of my wonderful truck and put it back to use. It has been sitting in the garage for the past 10 days. Everytime I think I want to use it, I shake my head and take the kids Camry. It is getting 28 in town and unleaded reg is $2. 87 compaired to $3. 19 for Diesel! Sorry for the long post. Just thought I would share my new driving habits. . ;) ;)

What's the tone ring mod?

Did you notice any difference in fuel mileage or response with the banks high ram intake? Did you also put the bigger cooler that you can get with it? I was also wondering about the muffler elimination kit from Geno's? Does it sound okay and did you have to cut your old muffler off due to the crimps from the factory clamps?

Robert, my mileage sucks also. I'm lucky to get 16. 5 highway below 65 MPH. The wierd thing is, no matter how I drive it, I'm getting the same mileage. My overhead is reading 2 MPG high with every tank so I'm trying get the dealer to give me the reflash for the milage overhead.

NOW AFTER THE MODS I HAVE NOW, I CAN SEE ABOUT 20 HIGHWAY AND 17 TO 18 CITY. ALSO HAVE ABOUT 15,K ON IT NOW. IM HAPPY WITH THAT FOR NOW. MAYBE AN AMSOIL DROP IN AIR FILTER AND A LITTLE LESS RIGHT FOOT I COULD DO BETTER. :-laf

Outstanding mileage for a motor that's not near broken in. Congrats!

Took a trip to Michigan from Montana (~4000 miles round trip) and ranged from 20 to 23 mpg once getting out of the mountains. Traveled at ~70mph with EDGE on 3/3, stopping only for fuel and sleep. Right now i get between 13 and 14 with short trips to work, 16 miles round trip, gravel then paved, gravel, paved, then gravel again, with no TC lockup. Just highway driving it's around 17mpg. Lots of wind around here which seems to kill any hopes of great economy (+20mpg) no matter how hard i try. Seams like the harder i try the worse it ends up getting!!! Your economy just depends on YOU and the CONDITIONS your driving in, lots of factors.

This is my 1st CTD, although my 3rd dodge truck. Just figured out my mileage when I filled up this afternoon, 15. 5mpg, combination of city / highway and a little towing. Truck just turned 700 miles, I'm happy so far. :)

In 308 miles all town start/stop I got 14. 1 mpg.

Today at 62 mph on cruise control I got 17. 8 mpg.

All of that is about the same I got with my 98. 5. Wish it got 20 mpg. Oo.

with my driving i try to keep it under 18-1900 rpms and i get 19-21 mpg freeway. when i load 2k lbs of feed for the horses my best is 27mpg at 1600 rpm--55mph. that was on the same streach of road on a calm day. i think it may be inertia. it is the only thing i can think of. i reset my mpg computer everytime my driving changes -(city, highway)- just to make sure. i am very pleased. i went from a f150 at 12mpg to this. heehee!
