Yes. My rail psi relief valve was bad and after 4 trips to the dealer stating all was well for the same symptoms she finally quit running on the Turnpike. #@$%! Got it towed to a different dealer and was fixed by morning. Symptoms were down on power(less than stock) and black smoke from low rail psi.

while knocking on a large piece of wood... . No i've never been stranded. All problems i've ever had, the truck got me home or to a shop to take care of it. I always look back to the fact they've always got me home.

Been stranded three times do to running out of fuel( Twice the Mule but was close to home, Once the Liner)all three my fault . The Mule wouldn't start twice because of solenoid contacts and once worn out batteries but it was at home at the time.

On the Mule the temp guage went in the red zone on produce run twice but I turned on heater it went back to normal. Never has done it again (knock on wood) I figured there was some trash in the system that kept the t-stat from opening( Shouldn't of been any trash I have the coolant changed every two years).

Two flat tires but changed the tire and got back on the road.

My mirrors(manual) coming loose on a run to kansas from Florida all most left me stranded in kansas but on a cold day before we were supposed to leave I took off the door panels and mirrors and tighten up the screws on mirrors. Of course I put it back together, there still tight but this was the second time so they will probably do it again (especially on northern roads).

Just once with my 2001 ---- APPS ----- and it couldn't have been at a worse time or worse place (well, maybe not the worst place, but pretty bad, western PA).

In 635,000 miles my three Dodges have never stranded me. I had repeated APPS failures (never a lift pump or VP-44) with my high mileage '01 but it was six speed so I could limp it into the next town or the next exit.

I wish I had thought of that. Getting stuck west of Erie PA wasn't pleasant. Limping all the way to Cleveland, however, would have been tough.

The only time my truck ever left me stranded was when i was stupid enough to drive it onto the beach (2wheel drive, SRW). Got me out there fine but when i tried to leave i buried it until the diff was sitting about an inch under the sand... :( But no, 165,000 miles now and the truck itself has never left me stranded.

Only two times mine has let me down. Once the factory installed Jacobs vacuum pump pulley siezed, shredded the serpentine belt, snapped the tensioner pulley and sent it into the back of the radiator, and broke the fan shroud. I ditched the Jacobs after the second failure in 71k miles, and now have a PacBrake.

The other time my #4 injector line split at 4:30 a. m. leaving on a 2,000 mile trip. It sprayed fuel over everything. I drove it home anyway (about 18 miles), picked up a line at the Cummins dealer, and had it back up and running by 10 a. m. It took awhile to splice the injector harness back together... 20,000+ fuel pressure does amazing things! I now carry a full set of high pressure lines with me.

I've been in numerous situations that should have left me stranded, but I've got out of every one of them. I've broken through 8" thick ice into a shallow pond, slid off the road down an embankment in a blizzard into a creek, and been buried up to the front bumper in mud. This truck has got me out unassisted (well, other than a few prayers) in every case.

I'm glad I bought a ram.

The six speed trucks will run at idle in third gear I know from experience, they might run in fourth gear also. The first time I had an APPS failure I had just topped the big grade between Cheyenne and Laramie towing a trailer. I coasted 13 miles down the grade and off the exit into Laramie. Had to stop at the stop sign but with judicious use of the clutch I eased off in first, shifted into second, and shifted again into third and ran down the main street of Laramie to a Dodge dealer.

I had it happen several other times and the old Dodge always got me to the next exit or into the next town in winter.

Had the OEM battery explode at around 5 years old, the starter failed last year, and the wife ran it out of fuel cause the fuel sender failed. So it's only left one of us stranded three times in 15 years and 195k miles.

Yep - I was victim of that lousy fuel pump on the side of the fuel canister idea about 300 miles from home.

One would think that after hundreds of VP44 failures due to the same type of design on the 2nd gen trucks that DC wouldn't have even considered putting the fuel pump in the same place on the 3rd gens.

Dealer installed the in-tank pump under warranty.

That's it so far.

I think somewhere in Murphy's law it says if I were to answer I would have to change the answer shortly thereafter. ;)

In the 10 yrs I owned a gasser Dodge 1500 and since getting the 05 CTD I've had to pull over twice. But each time the trucks have gotten me to my destination and the the dealer for the needed repairs.

In the 10 years I owned my 95 CTD, it never left me stranded and my 05 CTD hasn't either so far. Knock on wood.

On the other hand my F250 Furd gasser left me stranded 6 times. One time, in Butte, Montana. I had to have a new engine installed, which took about 4 days and many $$$.
