After seeing the underside of my Dodge slowly start to brown over in spots with rust, I decided to cure this spreading problem before it gets too out of hand!! I started stripping down the components on my truck to prepare them to set my truck apart from the rest... .

I could have painted it black again and been done with it- but I wanted to look different.

I also run a lot of Amber L. E. D. running lights and have a nice glow going on at night. Now with what I've done the entire underside should be completely visible on even the darkest of nights..... :D

You are right a lot of work but it looks well worth it in the end. Really sharp looking under carriage.

Thanks! It is a lot of work to do it the right way- and I have to yet spray on the clear coat protective finish that I might just mix in an added surprise in that clear coat... ... ... .

Here is the right front frame section- not your usual effort and again no easy undertaking- I'm taking individual parts off and totally prepping and painting, then reinstalling them... ... ... ...

Looks nice. Might be more durable to use a good self etching primer, then 3m paintable undercoating, and then a nice coat of paint (your choice of color)

That looks awesome RacinDuallie! I'd love to spend the time on doing something like that. Being here in the South, the rust isn't so much of a problem but that looks really nice.

BTW, what kind of materials are you using?

Keep up the good work. Let us know how long it takes you to complete the whole project.

im sure i have seen the silver frame and axles before i painted all of mine last summer but i took everything apart frist and painted the bottom of the bed and cab to match the exterior of my truck im glad to see someone else liked the idea of a silver frame

I clean to bare metal, then apply PPG Bare Metal Cleaner, Then PPG Metal Conditioner, Then PPG DP-90 Black Epoxy Primer- then base color coats- then clear... .
Here is the DP-90 drying on the front housing... .
