OK Guys, I'm going to my bank tomorrow and see what it takes to set up and the legal and tax end of it. My wife who is a book keeper said she would help set it up(ledger page).
I'll post then and let you all know the results.
I will get a hold of the TDR moderators and see if I can leave it on a "sticky".
Like I said before... Lets make this thing work... And thanks for all of the tentative pledges.
I will call a Cummins shop locally and try to get a ball park figure on an engine and install. Chris
I would feel really good if we could afford to send it to the best shop possible and as close to them as possible. I want their truck treated with total care and detail... the little things a good shop can do count so much. Even have the engine compartment and under frame professionally cleaned since it made a mess with oil spray. That would be nice. The repair shop should be made aware of the situation and what is going on so they know its not just another routine repair. Maybe they would even donate a little too... some miscellaneous stuff like antifreeze, oil and filters. It all counts. If we can pull this off, it would be worthy of a TDR article to see what wonderful clubs like this are capable of. Mail one to Dodge too.
count me in, when & where?. this is a great idea, for no more than the price of a big mac, fries, & a coke we can help these folks tremendously. who knows what comes around goes around.
I've been sitting here and don't know what to say! I just thought I would check on the thread and found this one.
Count me in too!!
I talked to dad last night and there was a message on the answering machine (dad was out dear hunting) from someone who identified himself as a Chrysler Factory Rep. and left his number for dad to call him back. My father-in-law is retired from the Chrysler plant here in Fenton, MO and I know he has been trying to get a hold of someone at the plant but the guy he was wanting to talk to was on vacation until next week. So I don't know who this guy is or whats up.
But dad is retired and camping season's over until spring so they are alright for now without the truck. We still intend to try the arbitration process and maybe small claims if necessary. If dad ends up paying for this, we plan on giving them some free advertising by calling a couple of the St. Louis TV stations that have a consumer hotlines and tell them the story. That should be fun
