Hi There, sorry this is kind of a duplicate post.
My wife just bought me the Mopar fog light kit for Christmas. I installed the lights and was waiting on wiring them to try and figure out a couple of things.
First question is: behind the drivers side bumper there is a wiring harness and plug that is not being used. Is this the factory wiring and my truck just came without fog lights? If it is can I buy a factory switch and shorter wiring harness that will plug into that and not run any wires into my cab? There is no plug on the passengers side. I assume that if I could get a wiring harness that would plug into that empty harness it would come with a leg that ran to the passenger side. My dodge dealership usually is not very helpful when I call them.
Next question is: If I have to use the switch, wiring harness, and relay that came with my kit can I splice into the Running light feed instead of the low beam feed it tells me to splice into and the lights would then work with the High and Low beams. I remember doing something like that on the aftermarket lights I put on my Toyota.
Next question: If I use what came with the kit can I buy another little toggle switch like what came with this kit so I can put in two switches. One for my fog lights and one for my auxilary backup lights.
Thank you in advance for all the help
Thanks,
Joe
