What can it hold?

Classic Transport anyone?

The Vortex looks nice, but Thor's quality and customer service is questionable. Do your homework and compare other trailers. Always remember, "the quality remains long after the price is forgotten. " Good luck ... . Jim

What a coincidence, I bought a Thor Tahoe Fury 29' last April. I'd say the quality is way better than average (from my research), the structure is near the top of the heap with the aluminum laminated walls.

I just got back from San Felipe, Baja with two quads and my dirtbike in the trailer, fits great. Drove through a huge storm on the way down, found out that the wheelwells leak a bit while driving so the limoleum got a bit wet, but warranty will be covering that and any issues with water inside. Very stout structure, love the generator, fueling station, microwave/convection oven... From my research, most EVERY trailer has some small issues from delivery through the first few trips, I don' think this trailer was worse than other stories I've read and way better than most!

Matter of fact, I'm already thinking of moving up to a larger 5th wheel Fury, make ya a heck of a deal!

Boy that dose look like a sharp rig! A friend of mine has a Desert Fox that he really likes. If i was shopping for a toy hauler I would want 8 lug, 16in rims with load range E or better tires. Good luck Jim

8-lug 16" tires helped me make the choice, too. I also think I get enough tire scrub with tandem axles, I didn't want triples with 15" tires. More ground clearance doesn't hurt for the dirt roads either.

The other factor that convinced us was the 3 (three) queen size beds! Front permanent bed and double queen electric drop beds in the cargo section as well as a convertible sofa and dinette. We've had 6 adults and 3 kids in at once, everyone had beds.

you ever consider a Weekend Warrior? They have two different kinds, a Super Lite and the regular, I have the super lite front sleeper. It sleeps basically six. Im considering upgrading to a 30' or probably alittle bit bigger. I havent had any problems with mine as of yet and Ive had it over a year now. Plus you cant beat the prices they have, I have a picture of mine in my Readers Rigs, check it out.

I bought a 32' Millenium tag because of the 20' cargo area that I can haul my cars and trucks in. Cost around $20K. What is the cost of the Thor? How big of a cargo area do they have, and what weight can they handle?

JJ Jackson as far as Thor's customer service, I'm a good friend with the owner of the dealer here in town that sells the Vortex Viper. I'm confident they will take care of any problems that may arise.

From what little info I've found on the net the Vortex is well built (aluminum framed) and I have found no complaints so far. But like I say there is not much info out there.

And every one else thanks for your comments. :D

RankRam, if you have a friend who owns a dealership I would think you have a tremendous advantage over the general public with regards to repair and warranty issues. If I had a friend who owned a Ferd dealership I would have to say,..... well you know where I'm going. Customer service is worth more than its weight in gold. I would say go buy it, have fun... . Good luck, Jim... ... ... ... . P. S. Maybe we'll see you at Sand Mountain

JJ Jackson thanks for the post, we are going to take a closer look at the unit and I expect we will place our order next week.

Now if we can just afford the $$$$ for the fuel to pull it. :-laf

JJ Jackson, speaking of Sand Mountain, when does it start getting warm enough to spend a weekend up there? We just got back from Baja and we're anxious to get back in some sand!

changing wheel size

I changed the wheels on my 5er to match my Pickup. It was an easy upgrade. The drums and bearings cost about $250 new for all 4. Since I already had extra wheels for my snow tires, it was a cheap fix. After leaving pieces of factory tires scattered all up and down the West Coast, something had to change. One size fits all is a big plus. You would be amazed at just how much damage a blown tire on a RV trailer can do.
