finding a boost leak. Tuesday night I got on it pretty hard and blew the intercooler boot off that goes to the intake horn. Replaced the clamp, and all seemed good. Then I noticed after exceeding 10psi, it sounded like there was a leek in the line that goes to the gauge. Carefully inspected and found it to be kinked, repaired it, still the same noise. I knew that the gasket between the intake horn and heater grid was goin bad, replaced it, still the same noise. Took off both boots on driver side, inspected, no holes. I'm lost now. I thought of taking off the plate on the intake manifold that has the heater grid on it and replace that gasket, but seems like some work. Anyone have any suggestions?

You will need to make an adapter that fits over the turbo intake and then you can pressurize it with a air compressor, no more than 30 psi, use a valve and a gauge to regulate the pressure. See page 30 of issue 58 of the print TDR for an example.

Well I think I got it figured out. I took the line off the gauge and the little brass crush seal was all screwed up, went down and got a new one, and that seems like it fixed it. I'll probably go down to Home Cheapo and make a pressure tester. Thanks surfbeetle, I had no idea that was there.
