the windshield on the wife's car has decided to go hazy during rainstorms at night. The wipers are working, but after a wiper pass, there is a haze, that reminds me of a RainX'd windshield in fog. Oncoming traffic, and streetlights are basically whiteing out the road. Its getting very dangerous! Its almost better to just not use the wipers and let the water 'sheet'. The haze is not visible during a daytime rain, only at night.
The only thing i can think of is going thru one of those automatic car washes at a gas station she somehow managed to get some 'wax' on it. I have tried everything to clean it off, ammonia, vinager, windex, dawn dish soap, copious amounts of elbow grease. Nothing makes a difference. The wipers seem to be in good shape, so I dont think its that, even tho they are 20k old. Could I RainX it even tho its already doing this and 'cover up' the problem?
Any thoughts on whats causing this, or how to resolve it?
