Maybe I'll jump in here with an option...
After some testing on a couple high HP trucks, using twins no less, a great mod for our trucks is to replace the headbolts with studs.
We are pushing these trucks/heads well beyond the design limits and head gaskets are now becoming the next "weak link" for us... myself included.
Results have shown that we can replace each head bolt with a stud, while keeping the stock head gasket in place.
The process is simple... . just pull one head bolt and replace it with a stud, going all the way down one line of bolts then move in to the next and work your way up. .
Anway, just a thought since we're pushing hard and these engines are starting to show the weaknesses that have, in the past, been reserved for the big guys and their high HP second gens.
just a thought...
