I find the headlights on my new to me 2015 tradesman packaged truck to be less than stellar. I actually think the original bulbs in my 06 were better. What BULBS have any of you found to be better? Not looking to put some Amazon projector head lights in it. Just looking to upgrade bulbs from the factory. No I haven’t tried aiming the headlights up a little yet. Thanks

This has been talked about on here a lot do a search if you can. LED but they are expensive.and in my opinion overly bright. I myself would rather have the stock lights for driving in the city and get some aftermarket moose lights on an easy to reach switch for the dark roads to use when need more light. Very common thing here. I hate being blinded by the led lights myself and think others must too. Moose lights usually go on the front bumper

You really can't convert normal halogens fitted lights to LED. The beam pattern is just designed for halogens.

If you want LED, you need to replace the headlight. Most importantly aim it correctly.

If there are two things I hate going down the road:

1. Retrofitted halogens with LED or poorly aimed LED head lights.
2. Automatic high beams. (They should be illegal!)

I have an older truck than yours with even worse headlights. A few years ago I put in Sylvania Silverstar Ultra and I have been fairly satisfied with the brightness of the lights. Undoubtedly there are better headlight systems but this was a workable simple approach.

I dont think that is possible!!!!

That said, I started using the Phillips "Xtreme Vison" Bulbs in ALL of my various vehicles soon after I realized how much better foprward lighting they offered when installed in my 2005 truck.

They are an upgraded halogen bulb that unlike many other bulbs, still offer a standard white/yellow light color and seem to last as long, or even longer, then any other standard halogen bulbs that i have tried. Neither do they cost an arm or a leg.

In short, if Phillips make the right style "Xtreme Vision" bulb to fit your truck, you should try it.

I put a set of combo white/amber LED lights in one of the lower bumper valance bolt holes. Can have the white with a wide pattern for those dark roads or amber for the dreary days with fog or rain. Aimed them about 4 inches below my low beams. Really makes a difference and haven't had anyone flash me for having the whites on. Just another option similar to "moose" lights that @Turbo Terry suggests. Also agree that there are better halogen bulbs with improvements from what has been available! LED bulbs can be done in the housing with some success as long as you first shine stock setup on wall, then add bulbs and take the time to "clock" the beam pattern and aim to same spots as stock halogens. Time consuming but may be worth it in the long run. Have done this on the DW's Outlander and she's had no one flash her on her drives into work. Took me several hours to get it right!
