Headlamps, on one side only, both high and low beams inoperative

I was sure my current problem had been discussed here but I couldn't find anything related. So:

Headlamp problem, both hi and low beams are not working on right side.

We are two weeks into a 3 month trip with no local shops or dealers that I have any confidence in.

So do any of you TDRers know what could cause both bulbs to not operate on just one side. Where do the hi and low bulbs have a shared power connection or source? One poster mentioned that reflashing the TPIMs (?) fixed a problem for them. The running lights and turn signals work fine.

There is separate power to each side. fuses probably. bg

This is where the Jap's have us beat. I've seen on Jap cars where the head lamp will be lit but dim when there is a blown fuse. Un less there is a really bad short in the wiring.

Thanks BG. I will check the fuses when I figure out where the might be. But believe it unlikely that both would blow at the same time.

I've run into this on both sides (at different times) on my 2010. You need to pull the lamp assembly and exercise the connectors. If it has the quad lights, there is a primary connector, then each bulb has its own connector. I disconnected and reconnected a couple times, as well as adding a dab of dielectric grease to each of the pins. IIRC all you need is a 10mm socket with a decent extension for the grill and light assembly bolts. don't forget the plastic tabs behind the flaps in the wheelwell liners!

Same thing happened to my 2012, it was the main connector, I took it apart and cleaned it with contact cleaner and compressed air then put some dielectric grease in and all is good. While I was at it I did all the connectors on both sides.
