Towing wiring harness different on 05?

Been shopping for headlight housings for 3rd gen and my 2nd gen. Using Regular Halogen bulbs , Dont want projector or hid

genos depo $$$$ over priced, Headlight depot brands, DAP( they dont know who manufactured what they are selling), A1 auto has several brands, goggle search of brands etc etc etc

They are all made in china

Can anyone recommend a seller and brand they are happy with the quality and a good price? Or even brand to avoid....

.

Depo brand, they are China made (Depo not Depot). I can get Depo brand less money than Genos else where

TYC might be a little better then other Hecho en China brands as they are insurance industry certified to meet insurance industry standards. Note that does not mean much because insurance industry also wants to pay as little as possible but it is at least something

check Rockauto….they had TYC lights for my Jeep at better then reasonable prices and they seem to fit fine and work fine

I've used Dorman's in my truck and a friend's truck doing the Sport conversion. They were identical to the Mopar's, full adjustments and mounted perfectly. I bought mine on Amazon, I THINK he bought his on Rockauto .

Way back when, when I did the sport conversion on my 01 I went with TYC. I think I got them through Genos but perhaps not it has been quite a while They were fine and are still working today at least fifteen years if not longer.

I bought least expensive on-line six months ago. $100/pair at RockAuto, roughly. Replacing TYC seen from circa 2012. Last buffed out about a year prior. New pair seem fine.

I’ve used products which claim to preserve such, but Texas heat & sun deny those claims.

It has always angered me that these plastico headlamp assemblies are expensive when OEM and not warrantable as it’s a safety issue. In combination with what everyone knows is a poor amount of light projected . . . I can run properly adjusted High Beam and not get flashed (a function of who’s on our roads these days ignoring flashes by others who have given up as, partly, that the dark-eyed can’t see as well at night as those with lighter-hued eyes and who just don’t give a D about others, besides).

When in 2012 I bought the first set the OEM were nine years old. Somewhat worse than what’s seen above. Dealer replacements were $339/ea at that time.

Investigated trying a relay-drive harness with upsized wiring , but it wasn’t possible without modification plus that output voltage was still about right (OEM wiring okay).

“New” (when I see other vehicles of any type) say to me the owner is being conscientious, and also that the vehicle looks distinctly better in every regard.

Adding supplemental been on a list a long while. Metro areas have enough street lighting I haven’t yet made it a priority, and that annual miles are extra-low. So, sorta glad I’ve held off as LED has come along to hopefully help remedy that in the future.

Since 2012 I’ve used Phillips tri-color. Still a few sets around. .”NightGuide headlamp bulbs feature special technology that projects specific colors of light into three distinct visual zones.” This bit of contrast works.

Thus:
Cheap assemblies improves what’s needed as to appearance and OEM-level performance as even Factory isn’t much good. $100 every so often, then, plus new lamps (dim as they age).

Anyone know what 3rd gen headlight "Late Design" means?

Rock auto has a 3rd gen 2005 "Late design" choice and not late design choice on all 3 manufcturers- depo and dorman and various MFR

From the pictures it looks like it MIGHT have something to do with an extra support arm but I am not at all sure about that.

Just the pre Facelift or not.
I dont know what that's supposed to mean

My 05 has 2007 bulbs. 2007s have different filament orientation than 2004 bulbs and has reflector covers in front of bulb not sure what '02-'04 years have

I call a dodge dealer parts guy see if there is info on "late design"

.

If you look at the mfg #'s, and what mfg #'s that they interchange with, it appears that they're a later production run of their stock. Mopar and Dorman have one choice for left and right.

Called the local small dodge dealership. Parts guy thinks late design means the 2006 late 2005 big honkin' headlight that cuts farther back on top fender

He gave me my dodge part number from my vin #....

Dodge Dealer Parts guy also said the buy from RockAuto
