I installed a "Brite box" on my '99 a few years ago, and at the same time installed new headlight bulbs. This morning when I turned on the high beams both headlights went out, but I still have low beams. Can anyone give me an idea what I should check first? Thanks for any help.

Have you tried a new bulb to eliminate the possibility that the high beam filaments have burned out?

Without checking, I'd say there's probably a high beam fuse or relay that has taken a vacation, if it happened that both died at once.

Thank you for the info, I didn't know that there could be separate fuses, & relays for the high beams. My wife always drivers this truck, so I will check it out later today. thanks again.

Also look at the BriteBox for signs of overheating (warping, bubbling on the outside or burning on the inside if you can open it up)... it is very possible that it has failed. If you can easily disconnect the BB and return the truck to stock that will also tell you if the BB has failed.

Thank you for the tip, if I don't find any relay, or fuse issues, I will check the brite box. I think that I saved pictures that I took when I put it in, I think its under the battery in the right fender.
I have been looking at a conversion to the quad sport headlights, because the OEM lights have never really been that great. I will keep you guys posted as to what I find out incase someone else has the same trouble. thanks again for the post...
