I'm working on a complete headlight conversion for my 01.

I removed Everything, plastic housing, turn signal, wiring harness,etc. !!
I used Hella projector, DOT approved, high and low beam modules. Each uses the new H9 bulbs and the beam patterns are outstanding!!
I fabbed the new housing from aluminum and steel strap, the lens from the new abrasion resist lexan. The lens is held on by 10-24 rivnuts, so it is easy to remove for cleaning and adjusting the modules. They are individually adjustable weather proof.
These are halogen, not HID. HID modules are available for approx 5x the cost of the halogen, and the HID are not DOT in this case.
The initial impression is that these are a HUGE improvement over the factory lights, even though I had already rewired each filament in the factory lights with its own relay and 10 gauge wire.
