This is good news about the SKIM key working. Figure out the high idle and I'll buy one :) I can't imagine losing my high idle now as winter approaches.

Don"t expect Bully Dog to have any features in the DL, The Software is leased from DC at $2,400. 00 for a Three year subsricption ,It is not legal to install it in any device outside of the DRB III, the subsricption can only be tranfered ,It cannot be sold.

What are you trying to say?

How does that apply to anything here? BD wouldn't be copying some special stuff from them. Cummins wrote all kinds of nice features into these ECM's that simply need to be activated by an external tool. It doesn't matter if it's a DRB or BD or something I cook up at home.

Andy

The software belongs to DC, Its your truck ,its your hardware. So cook up what you want. The TSB flashes are DC,So you need the DRB III to get them. I don"t know of any other tool that will activate them. Have you ever seen the dealer tech use the DRB III with techconnext. It can find any thing you done to the ECM/PCM ,Members don"t be misled. As soon as the tech send the info DC will know that thier was a program change, and it will be a matter of record. I would not like to see a member get warranty voided because he was not aware of this,Must of us are our own warranty station and like it that way. Personally I wish I could buy a truck with the 0ption of a 6k warranty if thier was a price reduction. A warranty won"t keep your cab warm when it is -0 out.

You can download flash files from the big three all day long if you want. You can also flash your truck with 3rd party hardware available from all kinds of manufacturers. Your issue with who owns the software doesn't mean anything in the context of this thread. You are clearly modifying the software in the ECM and that is arguably not illegal. DCX doesn't like it but that doesn't make it illegal.

The high idle feature is not a new flash for the ECM, it's a flag that is set in the ECM by the DRB.

Andy

Yea but to use the PTO feature for warm ups you would have to leave the box pluged in with that cable hanging right in front of the drivers seat. Not very convienent for a daily driver in a cold climate.

these reflashes only changes part of the code/data so their is legal issues with it. its just like writing a book based on another when you only change chapter one. I heard DCX is the most intolerant on this. its not a coincidence downloaders for dcx vehicles are not available from every manufacturer. i would curious to know if they somehow got around this or not.

by the way, has anyone noticed any of these three things with their powerpup:

i let go of the throttle slightly while cruising down the highway becasue a car pull in front of me and the truck took off suddenly.

at a certain RPM on the highway the truck oscillates.

light acceleration seems to bog the truck down, but quick acceleration works.

yes, mine had the same problem with the flat spot in the throttle. I will tell you all this much. Two of us dyno tested two different BD DL's today... ... ... . I think most of you will be interested. I will let rams-n-hogs give the run down on the numbers, if he is up to it. :D

Sorry, no numbers. BullyDog has issues with this box not working correctly on some of the 305/555 engines. They are supposed to have a reflash out for the box in the next week, or so to correct this. We'll see if things improve then.

Can anyone confirm that:

1) New upgrades will be available from BullyDog in the future for the programmer? Will these be free? Does it require a simple serial cable?

and

2) Do they plan to allow tire size selection in the future where we can enter tire revolutions / mile like they can with the DRBIII?

any upgrades they come up with will be available by way of internet soon. at present you can send it back for any upgrades if it were to be neccesary. bullydog wiil take care of any issues, of course, no charge. the only issue is on a small number of early 04's w/ a certain build date w/ the 48re. no other models have an issue. a slight varience on programing and some arent getting the gain in numbers as they should on some rigs built in a certain time period. and some models gain more than is advertised. b-dog has it figgered out and is taking care of it. the ability to upgrade by way of internet shall soon be available and any upgrades in the future will be offered to those that will benefit from it.

the 05 programing is figured out and in the process of testing and will be released very soon. makes it tough that dc does so many changes in programing throughout a model year and between model years, and not to mention diffferent programs tween 6 speed and 48re and bdog tries to make the pup interchangeable among several models but it is a hard task to accomplish. the 05 program wont be interchangeable with the earlier models and versa vice.
